Industry standard?
Industry standard?
Sadly, I do think it is starting to become one. It's a staple of many bands, and r&B acts.

Autotune isn't becoming an industry standard, it has been one for quite a long time now. Most artists that use it use it to fix small errors, however, when used to drastically alter the voice, it is meant as an artistic device.
The fact is, studio time is expensive, and most artists cannot afford to stay in and get a solid clean take of everything , so when there are errors they fix it with the most convenient way possible. I'm not saying that some singers don't just hide behind it, but it's not like it's killing the "integrity" of a performance.

i want it for demoing. i write tons of stuff and am kind of ocd about getting everything correct to show to people. most of the time when i record though its at the end of the day after ive been coming up with ideas in my car. its nice to lay down the tracks in one take, tune them briefly, and come back to it in the morning and not have my ears hurt. i could take more singing lessons i guess hahaha but the lady i go to is a dollar a minute. this would be more cost efficient
