I grew up with The Simpsons, and started watching South Park when it first appeared, but at this point in time the answer is, hands down, Family Guy.

It's the only one that causes me to interupt hysterical laughter with even more hysterical laughter on a pretty consistent basis. South Park used to be that for me, but I just don't find it as funny as I used to. I think Family Guy set the bar too high and now everything else is boring if I'm not laughing the entire time. It reminds me of the South Park episode where Cartman saw something so funny that it pretty much ruined his chances of ever laughing at anything else again.

If we're talking about the impact it had and its importance and whatnot, The Simpsons easily crushes the other two. However it hasn't really been too funny as of late. South Park had a few bad seasons but they've rebounded pretty well, and at their best they're better than anything on TV, so I'll go with them. Family Guy is good for some lulz, but it really isn't in the same league IMO.

South Park just makes an episode on whatever the issue of the week is....(which isnt a bad thing, i love all 3 shows) but im just saying that in terms of "show" Simpsons is the king. South Park is probably the funniest though, althought the Simpson wit is hard to look past.


Plus, what I like about Simpsons honestly is that not everyone gets all the jokes. Like your typical "bro" or haha "girls" dont like the simpsons on the same level as south park and family guy, because the simpsons doesnt cater to their humor. Just throwing that out there.

Family Guy brings the cheap laughs, it is what it is, but it is comparative garbage. South Park is best when it plays its cards right, rather than just going for shock value. They have a very creative team and have done some great work.

Since South Park has been on 12 seasons, look at The Simpsons' first 12, when The Simpsons was arguably still in its prime. It has its share of (and early on just as many if not more) easy laughs, but it is also on a whole other level. There are so many subtle references to subject matter and scholars from various academic fields, there are literally hundreds of math jokes thrown in there. There is a reason there are college classes taught on this show.

On top of the humor, The Simpsons has far better character development, fantastic writing, and had brilliant stories and originality, doing a better job of what Family Guy is doing now over a decade ago. (South Park paid homage with the "Simpsons did it" episode). There is often emotional attachment to what is happening as well, it can be downright moving, something Simpsons did better than any other show of its kind.

It may just be a TV show, but I am just utterly perplexed by these results.
