Blink-182 is featured in Kerrang! as reuniting 2009.

I definitely think they'll have a record out before 2012.
With everything from Jerry Finn to Travis Barker and Mark posting on his blog...
I have no doubt of a reunion.

Definitely not going to happen in the near future.
Though I creamed myself when I first saw the article.
They're just basing the speculation off of Marks post from his site, because they finally talked and all that jazz, everyone instantly was like oh snap! Reunion!
But yea.

yea, at the end of blink, Tom mentioned he was talking with interscope records about recording new music and all the drug induced hype he started, haha.
Though he never explained why he went from Geffen to Interscope.

They're posing it as a question in the magazine. I bet they do it to sell copies, and in the end come to the conclusion that mark and tom talked but have no idea if they will reunite. Just like Mark's blog said.

I'm willing to bet the article will be a whole lot of nothing.

I see a blink reunion definitely happening, but i'm personally not too fussed as i find their music pretty boring now.

They were the band that spawned most of the generic stuff, so it doesnt make them generic. It aint their fault a load fo bands have just tried to ape them in recent times

You can like Blink-182, but calling them original is ridiculous.
Being original is overrated!

And by that you mean they created that genre right? Because without blink the majority of pop punk bands would either not exist or be waaaay different.
Evolution of punk
The Clash > (big era of emptiness) > Nirvana > Green Day (Dookie era obviously) > Blink 182 > Fall Out Boy
You all know its true. Blink did to GreenDay's sound what Green Day did to grunge. Blink made it pop-ier, then FOB took the pop part to the next level.
And the possibility of seeing blink 182 live has made me cream my pants multiple times already.

if blink reunites, i will fly across america to see it their first show back!
the thought of them making a new record kinda of scares me a little bit though, honestly... the direction tom has been going (and his big-headed-ness), and travis pretty much only doing hip hop, and mark's boring as hell plus-44 album, i don't see them all coming together in a real good way, especially without jerry finn behind the boards.
before they even think about a new album, they have to do a full US tour or two to make sure everything is seriously good between them all. we don't want them to break up again due to creative differences a year after they reunite, ya know?

I never got a chance to see em live back when they were together, so I'd love to see a reunion happen. Generic or not, Blink is one of those bands I've always wanted to see live.
Blink 182 are power-pop. The Buzzcocks are pop punk.
Hmm. Maybe. I'd call the earlier stuff pop punk, but I can understand calling the later stuff popwer pop. Honestly, people really gotta stop being such genre whores. If you like a song/band, does it really matter whether they are one genre or another?

No, they did not "create that genre" they merely made it poppier so it would appeal to the masses better.
Green Day and grunge have nothing to do with eachother other than Green Day is what happened after grunge. What you're suggesting is that Green Day is grunge, which is laughable.
Also, during that big "big era of emptiness" were a lot of great bands that you're just totally overlooking. Maybe you should do some research and not just go by what was mainstream at the time.

I disagree with this statement. The genre in question is pop-punk and I don't think that they've really done anything to impact that particular genre. Other genres maybe, but not pop-punk. Can you agree with that much?

Can you agree with that much? Well, I disagree with you a bit. I think a lot of the kids that are in pop-punk bands today did listen to Jimmy Eat World, and were influenced by them. They didn't have a huge impact like a band like Weezer or Nirvana, but you can't deny they influenced a lot of the pop-punk bands today.

To a certain extent I agree with you, that a lot of kids in pop-punk bands are influenced by JEW. But I think that more of those pop-punk bands are influenced by Blink-182 more. I also think that more bands who are influenced by JEW aren't just pop-punk bands. They might have some pop-punk qualities to them, but they aren't straight up pop-punk.

I wouldn't give either of my nuts, or them both collectively up for anything Blink related (reunion, album), but if they toured it would be neat, but overpriced i'm sure. I agree another album would be a mess, and probably a disappointment for fans and critics.

Same here (not my absolute favorite, but definitely up there with Paramore and Green Day for me). My friends aren't the concert types, and my parents wouldn't let me go alone when I was like 13 (I think that's how old I was when they broke up), and there's no way in hell I would go to a Blink concert with my parents (Mum or mom? ;-)), but now I'd be a-ok by myself.

Ya. They kinda lost that towards the end of their careers. When they were touring for their last album, it was very much a run of the mill, play songs, and leave type of deal.
I also dunno if I would want a new album. Maybe they should do what The Police did, have one last, huge tour, and then call it a night for good.

Well look at the difference between their last album and their previous albums. They matured.... well a lot. It's hard for them to be the same potty-joke dorks when they are older and touring in support of a much more serious album compared to their other releases.

I read somewhere that it was a story with it ending with the main character killing himself on Elevator
Elevator is blatantly about 9/11.

I would say that yeah, it parallels 9/11, and reflects about it, but isn't necessarily about it. i read the same thing as c_rob2700

Even after 6 years... I still haven't managed to find Jordan Pundik on Cat Like Thief.
I personally feel Elevator's just about a guy jumping off a building to commit suicide - his view and the view of the person who sees it on the street. BUT ya know - with all songs it's how you interpret it yourself.
It's such a good album.

Isn't it Tim Armstrong on Cat Like Thief, not Jordan Pundik?

Both
I can't hear Jordan then either, unless he's singing quiet harmony parts with Tom in the end of the song.

Yeah that's where I've always thought it must be
the "Don't Leave Her" bits .. Still can't hear him but I guess that means he must be THAT good at harmonies haha - blending in so well.

Hahahaha. That good at harmonies. Well i think i do hear the harmonies, but they are so subtle, you have to crank it to hear it well. It's hard to decipher a particular voice in that that though, for all we know it could be Tom singing the harmonies.

I honestly have no idea what Jordan's part is, but I've always assumed that it is the little, "Yeah!" sorta thing at about 3:43 but it could be the harmonies too.
Also, when people say "lol no theres no way they're reuniting all this stuff is just a coincidence" I usually think that it's way too much stuff happening at once for something to not happen

At a recent Atticus clothing show Tom Delonge and his band Angels and Airwaves took to the stage for a short 3 song set, during the course of the set it was noticeable Delonge was acting distant and distracted from his new band mates. In return his band mates gave the lead singer frosty looks during the entire set, and there was no banter with the crowd at all during the show. This set was only supposed to be a 3 song set according to the show promoter, unexplainably after the 3 song set which was in all honesty was quite shabby, due to Delonge being the main focus of the band and his lazy attitude, Delonge unexplainably re took to the stage alone 5 minutes later.
This time Delonge was in different clothes to the black emo attire he previously wore, this was a different Delonge in a backwards baseball cap, 3 quarter length shorts and white Macbeth top, strikingly similar to the attire he wore during his Blink 182 days. On his return to the stage he no longer had his trademark Tom Delonge Gibson ES-333 in his hand but a plain white Fender, again one strikingly similar to the one he used in his previous Blink days. Nobody was aware of what Delonge was doing, least of all the promoter who was visibly trying to pull Delonge off the stage, however with no luck. Delonge proceeded to silence the crowd then played a full rendition of the Blink 182 smash hit Stay Together For The Kids, a song previously sung in unison with former band member Mark Hoppus. However it was Delonge and Delonge alone with his guitar as stunned onlookers stood in disbelief to what was taking place. Delonge sang all his parts and played all his parts in those 3 minutes with more passion and drive than the whole 25 minute 3 song set he just performed with Angels and Airwaves put together. However during the course of the song obviously he was alone without his former band mates, and when it came to the Hoppus verse of the song instead of covering it, he left it mysteriously silent with just his guitar playing. After his heartfelt rendition of the hit song finished he spoke softly into the microphone; ****ing stay together for the kids, im sorry.

Eh... I disagree with FOB being on there.

Dave Grohl is commonly featured as a devil in Tenacios D videos.

I agree with this guy.
Also, I don't think the reunion is going to happen.
I tend to be pessimistic of things
