Feeling kind of an Elliott Smith vibe with this one, musically.

Just give it some time and I'm sure you'll be fine
After all in a year you'll be gone
And I hope you'll concede that the life that you lead
Is a lie that you keep leading on
Though the faith that you faked now is flaking away
There is nothing beneath to reveal
And you can't disagree when she says she can't see
Anything there to love that is real.

Tomorrow's the end of this drawn-out beginning
These calendars ought to be changed
So the weeks are just rows without columns to show
Yesterday and today are the same
You confess you'll be scared if you find she's not there
In the music and fake paper stars
Because you're hoping that maybe amends could be made
Though the chances are narrow so far.

Now if I had a feeling that up past the ceiling
Was something to brighten my blues
It might help me not have these faltering thoughts
But I wish it would give me some clues.
They're just so many words
on a page that won't burn.
You're a sinner who can't learn
how to cope with what you've earned.

Are you dragging your feet in your rain-soaked tuxedo
Because you think you've been betrayed?
Or because you had honestly thought overnight
You could dry up the oceans you've made?
You were briefly considering ending it all
But you don't like to overreact
So you just went to sleep; you remind me of me
And forgot it all after the fact.

You interrogated the walls as you waited
Asking why all your fears had proved true
But all they could say as you went on your way
Was repeating your words back to you.

its because the dead are alot classier than the living
