can you delete music off your computer, but it will stay in your ipod?

Deleting the file off your PC isn't gonna make it disappear from your iPod, as long as it's already on the iPod.

yes it will if you have it on automatic update.

with automatic update, whenever you plug in your ipod, it makes you ipod library the same as your library on itunes, so therefore, if you delete music from your computer, it will automatically be deleted next time you plug in your ipod.

to prevent this, change the setting to manual update. then you just drag and drop whatever you want to put on your ipod.

spoken like a sheltered brainwashed apple nub. apple products are only good if you don't know anything about computers...if you know what you're doing, apple products are awful because of how expensive they are for such limited capabilities. Hence why I hate using Mac computers, iTunes, etc....

False.. I have...wait, scratch that, had a Dell DJ until I was listening to it on the way to class one day and it shot craps. I even tried the emergency restart and it's fucked.. I now own an ipod and couldnt be happier with my decision.

mmmm....no. Apple has the most experience with internal disc players and has the best interface by far, especially if you are like me and have around 30 gigs of music. And nobody bring up the argument about how you can only buy from itunes......bittorrents......

I've had experience with both iPods and Dell DJ's, and the Dell is better. iPods have a shorter battery life and break far more often. iPod's are more of a social status emblem and may be sleeker, but the Dell is better in my opinion if you don't care about being an eletist prick. After I got my DJ I never looked back at iPods.

my battery lasts 10 hours.. i dont have a problem with it .. and ive had my ipod for 6 months

but the new ipods will last a long time because the regular ipods alwayss have longer battery life then the minis so now that the new minis have 20 hours the new ipods this year should get that or more

Creative Nomad and Dell Jukeboxes >> Ipods. I love the sound quality of the Nomad's and how low of cost they are for what you get (40 gigs - 200 bucks? cant beat that!). I had a problem with my Nomad like three weeks ago but I was an idiot and found out what happened. As for Dell's, also cheap in cost, VERY easy to use, and just really well made. I can't pick which is better.

The problem with the ipod is that for 300 bucks, you're getting useless shit you'll never use. Solitaire? Fucking Brick Attack? Only 20 gigs? The sound quality is also poor on the iPods. And like Scott said, iTunes absolutely sucks. And personally, although they look cool, they feel like they'd break if I dropped them, even with the case. My Nomad has that feeling to it that if I dropped it, it keeps playing (which it did, so many times.) Also, that wheel sucks. Touch pad, whatever. It is just really touchy and annoying.

the Dell DJ's battery life is over double the ipods... DJ's battery life is over 20 hours.

I think the newest generation of iPods has a much better battery life than the old ones. I just got a new one and haven't really tested it's battery life, so I can't compare it to the DJ, but I know the new ones are much better than the old ones and hold their charge much better
