The Academy Is (http://www.theacademyis.com) will be doing a Hollister in store performance at the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, IL this Sunday, May 8 at 8pm. We just found out that we have 50 tickets to giveaway, so if you want to go, all you have to do is let us know. The first 50 people to email johnny@fueledbyramen.com with the Subject: Hollister, will be put on the list. Please make sure to include your name, home address and phone number.

We ask that you please only respond if you can actually attend. It would suck to pick the 50 people, but only have 10 show up, while others are shut out.

The address of the store is:
Fox Valley Center
1520 Fox Valley Center
Aurora, IL 60504

Isn't Hollister pretty much A&F? And this doesn't really surprise me seeing as how FOB did this not too long ago. Either way, great band who deserves the publicity.

Hey must have been the sound at Chain 'cause the 3 times that I've seen The Academy Is.. (Starland Ballroom, NJ; 9:30 Club, Wash DC; The Webster Theater, Hartford, CT) they've sounded great and usually the sound at the webster sucks.

but check out our AWESOME interview with William Beckett on the front page at www.heartsandsleeves.com

Jesus Christ...seriously now, this is ridiculous. Finals week approaches at college, and back home gets good shows for what seems like two STRAIGHT weeks. Now this means that when I get home there will be no good shows to go to...oh well.

i work at AE, i shop at AF and Hollister(sue me now, you wont get much)...and Hollister plays the best music out of them all and they sell some cds...but i bet 99% of the people that work at that store wont appreciate The Academy Is...and that is the part that sucks...but maybe they will get new fans, i guess thats what its all about, spreadin the love...

I work at a Hollister, and yes it is owned by A&F, but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The people at my store are all pretty cool and we all go to shows and everything. In fact, our top 10 list on our jukebox consists of The Academy Is, Fall Out Boy, From First to Last, the Format and Blindside, amongst others. Sure a lot of people are douchebags that come in and there are some 12 year old girls that should not be shopping there, but its not some terrifying place no one should ever step foot in. As for the instore concerts, they're actually not too bad, it's a private concert for employees and up to like 75 "Club Cali" members (Our points program) and their friends.

wow... if you people really wouldnt go to a show because its in Hollister... I actually cant think of anything more lame in my life. Its a freakin store! I dont even know what Hollister is, I guess thats what happens when you live in the City on the south side. So if you really wanna go but are to scared to go in the store... buck it up, get overyourself and try to get a ticket.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? When I was growing up, if a band set foot in a mall, let alone played in one, we'd call them sellouts and they'd be shuned(sp?) every show they played. Why is something like this acceptable now? Why do you people shit your pants when your favorite band signs to a major label? When the fuck did shit like this become cool in the scene? This is ABSOLUTEly the least punk thing any band can do and should not be encouraged.

The Academy Is...? Don't you mean Taking Back Sunday Redux?

No, no, no...you mean Fallout Boy Redux?

To The Academy Is...:

Make up for the Toronto date you missed out on due to unfortunate circumstances.

And this does not mean with a Warped Tour performance. I'm talking full set.
