This is more free verse than anything. No real structure, just a collage of ideas.

Growing up is the hardest thing I think I’ll ever have to do/ when all is said and done/ nothing beats pretending you’re an outcast (you’re an outcast?)/ I’m trying to fight this neon-colored future/ but the next generation of “misfit” kids is stronger than I think I ever could have imagined/ I’m in love with every pair of eyes (especially my own)/ "but you don’t ever want to look at me"/ so snap those self-indulgent poses/ why be in love with your idols when you can worship yourself? "Are you looking at me yet? I want to be the well-dressed prick you can buy for free/ These days, Hollywood is a MySpace profile of the week/ "Guess I haven’t made it yet"/ I get my best ideas/ when I pretend I’m 13/ Adolescence never seems so cool as when you’re too old to remember what it is/ Can I be the poet of your generation?/ I swear someday it’ll all be better/Someday music will be cool again/
