My new article is up for the week, and it's called, "Maybe I Wasn't Wearing Rose Colored Glasses After All?" (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=70676)

So go read and go give an opinion.

***Also I will not be able to participate in a debate on Sunday because of graduation***

If you look at the numbers and the graph, today's employment numbers are still below that of when Bush Jr. took office. How the fuck can you say "there has been a net gain of around 850,000 jobs."?

Wow, imagine a guy from Texas A&M being on Bush's side...what next, someone from Mississippi opposed to affirmative action? Radical stuff happening on here...

The problem with the stats you cite is that they come from Bush's administration. His cabinet has done a bang-up job of redefining job classifications which has given us a pretty hazy view of what the fuck is really happening. For example (and this shit was RAMPANT during the final stretches of the 2004 election as Bush Jr. was trying everything to stack the numbers in his favor), the administration did their part to reclassify fast food food jobs (and other minimum wage shitwork) as "manufacturing jobs". So while Americans lost MILLIONS of high paying union jobs that provided health care, retirement benefits, etc, the Bush White House was tooting their horns over jobs at McDonalds. Just another example of how the GOP has done all but kill off the middle class, see the Reagan Years for more.

Bush's "No Billionaire Left Behind" tax cuts haven't done anything to help 99% of Americans, but that elite 1% has even MORE dough now which has indeed allowed for more corporate expansion and more shit jobs. Great. Unless you were an autoworker or some other skilled laborer who now has to work for minimum wage and receives none of the benefits the average American deserves.

These aren't exagerrations, nor are these isolated incidents. If you want some REAL facts about employment, you should examine these numbers from the perspective or the workers and laborers and check out what the unions are reporting. Unions aren't aren't perfect, but I'll take the word of the working man any day of the blue-blooded Bush administration and their pro-monopoly politics.

So I'm a little new to posting on here...THIS guy is the "Politics Writer"? Yikes. And I thought the reviews were bad.
