Haha, I don't think you'd never find an answer to that question.

hey if anything, they had nto learn alot from this years festival, so i doubt this one could be any worse. although overall my bamboozle this year was great 3 days of great bands, and 3 days of being completely fucked up. who was everyones favorite performance of this years festival? i dont know who mine was. a few were funeral for a friend, armor for sleep, saosin, the starting line, the bled, and acceptance

The Bouncing Souls.
I honestly believe that they'll have learned a lot from this year, and the organization will be much better next year.
I still had a great time this year, though.
Some dissappointments, but overall it was a lot of fun.
And if the line-up is anything like this years again next year, I don't think I'll be able to resist.

As miserable as my experience was and as much as I've bitched about it, I'm sure I'll come crawling back next year. Hopefully whoever organized their lineup stays and whoever organized the stage layout is gone.

first of all will people just get over it! skate and surf and bamboozle are the exact same thing just with different names. there were just a couple of changes like the concerts east shit and shit like that but overall it was pretty much the same thing. second stop saying put the main stage outside cause it will never happen, if it were to happen then they would make no money and that would be that and you know that the reason most of these people are running this shit is to make as much money as possible. thrid of all, the stages were not that bad at all, the sound will always suck at that place whether it is in the main hall or outside or whereever. honestly i'm sure the max cruse company (it is not one person is it just a bunch of people that thought of a stupid ass name cuase they thought it was all swave sounding) have not learned a thing from all the mistakes they made seeing that they spent the whole day in front of their computers doing shit. and i know that for a fact. people will still come back next year and it will still be amaing and shit will still be fucked up. but thats the way it goes. warped tour has been going on for 11 years now and shit still gets fucked up with them. and this was only the first time of bamboozle. HOPEFULLY changes will be made and over the years shit will get a little better as each year goes on. and they had nothing to do with booking the bands for the most part. there is a group called the agency group which is a huge booking agency that books most of the bands that are on the bamboozle/skate and surf line up every year.

FOR REAL.
what a horribly put-together festival.
i watched probably... 3 or 4 bands all day. it was way more fun meeting up with people i hadn't seen in a while than trying to deal with the hassles of the festival.
also i love how they cut saosin's encore on their second set. what douchebags.

reunion? they are writing recording a new album. I am sure they will be on tour next year.

yeah they should move it to Englishtown. if it is not called skate and surf, they have no need to have it by the beach.

just to clarify the president of the max cruise company is actually named max cruise. and your wrong about the guys from max cruise just sitting at their computers all day because i was there walking around with a few of them. but the thiung about the agency group your exactly right.someone from there got pissed at concert east for some reason, and decided the best way to get back at them was to bring as his bands to bamboozle.then other started to do the same such as fata booking and face the music touring

Really? Then why when the idea for bamboozle came out, Skate and Surf had dates for two weeks later? And they still did for awhile until they really couldn't book the same bands. Also, proof-read your response before you post it. Come on, there is a spell check button.
Warped tour there was outside & they made plenty of $$. It's called putting up portable fencing.
Warped tour was getting so big that they moved it away from Asbury Park (also having to do with whatever development they are trying to do with that shithole) to Englishtown Raceway. Every stage was outside, in the same area. The two mainstages were just on opposite ends of the fairgrounds. There is also plenty of parking. Fuck, they even make it so people can set up tents. It could be a emo bonaroo. Ha, I should run this. It will give them the opportunity to have plenty more $$.
And Max Cruise is the president of his company. http://66.33.220.182/contact.shtml
Hey Max Cruise, if you read this, and take my idea. I demand part of the profits.

Tell this to my friends who drove from FLA and Michigan to see the FSF reunion, only to be told they weren't allowed inside the venue because of "restrictions"... I have yet to talk to a single person who said this event was even somewhat organized, so obviously something was wrong and obviously a lot of people didn't get their money's worth... especially those who drove over 20 hours to be told they couldn't witness what they drove there for. "They make mistakes, they'll learn from them and improve next year" does not justify a damn thing to people who paid their hard earned cash to go to a well-organized event. I understand a lot of these problems were way out of their control, but I feel if a company is in-charge of organizing an event, every aspect of it should be in their control, and if it's not, it's their fault. You could expect a detailed update on the bamboozle/max cruise website in the near future regarding the issues talked about in this thread... at least that's what I was told.

fyi- skate and surf and the bamboozle are completely unrelated, and this is not the first year the bamboozle has been around.
the skate and surf festival has always been put on by the huge concert promoter "concerts east". these guys are a huge company and have alot of experience under their belts in putting on huge shows.
the bamboozle has always been put on by max cruise (thats the name of the company- max cruise). although they are a large promoter in NJ, they are nowhere near as big as concerts east. the bamboozle has occured in previous years, but it was never even close to as big as this year. i know last year the bamboozle was mostly jam bands like moe. this is the first year they decided to change the genre of the festival (makes sense, there is alot more money in punk, harcore, emo, alternative, etc, than just jam bands) and the thing exploded. i think they were unprepared for the immense popularity of the festival, and didn't anticipate how huge it would be. hopefully they learned a thing or two about how NOT to do a festival and the same thing wont happen next year
i haven't heard anything about max cruise and concerts east combining their festivals next year. i do know that concerts east was pretty pissed this year because max cruise "stole" the acts that normally play the skate and surf fest. word.
bamboozle can eat a bag of dicks. i would never pay for that show again.

I wasn't trying to justify it . I was just talking about 06, that I really think it will be better in 06 because obviously Max Cruise had a lot to learn this year. A lot of shit that went down there was definitely their fault, but also a lot of it was stuff that unless they're complete idiots, they should realize went wrong and learn from.
Anyway, I'm not saying they should just write the problems off as a learning experience, I'm just saying that hopefully it should be better next year.

i didnt go, but hearing the responses, it didnt sound well organized.

I really feel bad for all the people who were dying to see FSF and couldn't. I'd say about half the people that were in there didn't give a shit about the reunion and they were waiting for Fall Out Boy. Was there any other performances during the weekend where people weren't allowed in?

it's their own fault if they didn't adequately prepare for how huge the festival turned out to be.
they KNEW by booking all of those bands (especially FSF w/carrabba) that it would have a huge turnout. they could fucking tell by ticket sales and hotel reservations made months in advance!
every year skate and surf got bigger and had more attendees. who was max cruise to assume that because the name was changed, the turnout would be any less? i doubt they did, and i honestly chalk up the crappy organization skills to ... just that. don't make any excuses.
i'm not sure what other bands people were turned away from since i only watched like, 3... but i know a lot of kids weren't allowed into the stone pony for saosin's set.
