The Audition (www.purevolume.com/theaudition) - This band is Victory Records' next Taking Back Sunday/Thursday... mark those fucking words. Their new songs sound absolutely incredible and they TOTALLY TOTALLY blow the demos out of the water. I promise every single person reading this... you will be VERY familiar with these guys by 2006... I swear on that. I am absolutely in love with these new clips and they extend far beyond any bullshit Chicago drama.

Once again, I have no new or unheard artists to recommend. I haven't heard any solid ones in a while so if you know of any, e-mail them to me at Frank.Giaramita@absolutepunk.net... thanks!

The Truman Show- Movie - If you haven't seen this, you're missing out big time. Jim Carrey is incredible in it. It's a very very well thought out movie with an intricate plot and amazingly solid ending. If you dug Eternal Sunshin Of The Spotless Mind, you'll love this as well. This isn't a comedy, so don't expect one just bc Jim Carrey is in it.

Shawshank Redemption- Movie - Heartfelt story about a man who is jailed for decades and loses his wife a murder he did or didn't commit. It's one of those films that gives you chills at the end and makes you look at things in a new light...

Anetta Keys (http://easypornstars.com/pornstar/anetta_keys_0.php?ref=top)- Pornstar - exotic looking and yummy. Check it.

The Giver- Book - About a town hellbent on perfection and utopia with a boy hellbent on breaking custom and being human. I don't read very often, but I highly suggest checking this thing out, it really opens your eyes to a different world.

Also, Nicole is adorable....

----------- Nicole's Recommendations ------------------

So, I've been disconnected from the world wide web for quite a while and have been unable to listen to all the new "sweet" bands that may or may not sound like every other band out there who may or may not be horrible. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hate me. I don't know if what I'm recommending has been recommended a million times and I really don't care to read your complaints about it. F'real. So here's what I've been listening to:

Regina Spektor (http://www.reginaspektor.com/) : So good. Her album "Soviet Kitsch" is pretty much ear candy. Just her and her piano, mostly. Candy.

Bella Lea (http://bellalea.com/) : So I saw them for the second time last Saturday with The Good Life and am stil totally smitten. You probably all know their whole story (Ex-Denali yadda yadda yadda), but i urge you all to give them a listen if you have yet to. Female vocals. Rock. Yes.

Atlas (www.abandnamedatlas.com) : A local band from here in Denver and one of my personal favorites. I don't think they can get anymore dance-y. When they play here the crowd usually turns into one big dance party. Pretty sweet. Be their myspace friend. I am.

This Providence (www.thisprovidence.com) : Holy crap. So, I pretty much am in love with this band and I don't care who knows it. Probably the catchiest music you will ever hear. Live? They put most other bands in whatever genre you care to put them in to shame. Shaaaame.

Bite me. Or if you don't want to do that you can instant message me at LYKE OMG NICOLE.

The Shawshank Redemption was an amazing movie...Have you ever read the book? It's great.

I was never a huge fan of The Giver, though...

First things first, the pornstar rec is a real classy touch that I enjoy. After checking out Bella Lea I'm even more disappointed they had to cancel their appearance a while back with Straylight Run. And the Audtion song at their purevolume sounds real good and has me real excited for more stuff. So all in all great recs.

The Giver has been one my favorite books since I first read it in 4th grade. And The Truman Show is really more brilliant than it gets credit for, in my opinion.

I'm not really liking The Audition though, just because that song blatently ripped off of Spitalfield. Other than that, great recs.

I know none of you care, but here are my recommendations for the week:

Sondre Lerche - checked him out just tonite on a recommendation from a friend. It's good stuff, nice and fun and relaxing. Great for a chill night at home in front of the computer. Strangely, it feels so nostalgic.

Tristan Prettyman - Not just an awesome name but a nice voice too. Nothing superbly outstanding or groundbreaking, but good nonetheless.

An Angle - I don't know why but Bright Eyes never did it for me yet I can get into this. It takes just what I like about this new wave of indie hipsters bombarding the scene, mixes it with the mellow groove of the singer/songwriter ilk and adds just enough pop sensibility to keep it fun and accessible. The new album is up for streaming at purevolume so give it a listen, you really have nothing to lose.

Emanuel - I know you've all heard this album by now and have an opinion on it. I didn't dislike it before but I never got that into it. Now that we're on the verge of summer though it seems as though it's just about the right time for this album.

Also, I'm all over the new Fall Out Boy, Acceptance, Copeland and Gatsbys albums. Those and my friend Holly recorded a few songs for her final project for her undergrad degree. It's just her, her awesome voice and an acoustic guitar. Maybe if you're luck I'll get her to create a purevolume site and you can all check it out.

The Truman Show has been my favorite movie since I first saw it, which seems like so long ago, but I can still watch it and feel like I did as if it was the first time again.

Oh great, made a movie sound like sex.

Either that, or someone trying to summarize message board talk. Gotta love technology (almost as much as you love LaFawnduh).

No kidding...is this an intentional thing because the riffs are so "I Loved the Way She Said LA" and they didn't even try to hide it? I dont' get it...yet I do see some potential with the band.
