Check these solid bands out.
Haste the Day (http://www.hastetheday.com/) - Be prepared for one of the best melodic metalcore albums of the year. They've improved a ton and have learned how to balance singing with intense screams. "When Everything Falls" is out 6/28 on Solid State Records
Number One Gun (http://www.numberonegun.com) - Jason's right, people are excited about this record around Tooth and Nail, and it's obvious to see why. This easily loveable pop-rock record is like a little baby Jimmy Eat World record. The production is great on it too.
MxPx (www.mxpx.com) - Panic is quite the album...musically it's one of their most diverse, it's their fastest in a while, and I am absolutely loving it right now.
Strapping Young Lad (http://www.strappingyounglad.com) - Hey, sometimes I get in the mood for the most intense metal in the world. It's a featured download right now...yeah. Century Media is a great label for crazy metal, i need to start checking out more of their roster.
Facing New York (http://facingnewyork.com) - I've been meaning to recommend this for weeks. Amazing stuff, I have their first EP and it was recorded in a matter of weeks after they were a band. The production is great, the pop-oriented progressive music is catchy as hell. Think Rx Bandit's "The Resignation" without the ska.
Sherwood (http://purevolume.com/sherwood) - I was not a fan of the EP. Not at all. I thought it was boring, generic keyboard emo rock. Well, they have a new album coming out at the end of this month, and did they change their style? No. Instead they fully embraced the pop, and the result is one of the catchiest albums to ever bring a smile to my face. It's incredibly well done and ya gotta give kudos for that.
The Pale Pacific (http://www.thepale.com/) - Can't wait for the full length, because the new EP "Rules are Predictable" is great. If you haven't heard them, they're like a mini Death Cab for Cutie with a bit more pop to them.
