This is by far one of the best action/revenge flicks I have ever seen. Liam is more badass in this movie than Daniel Craig is in both the new Bonds. The action is filmed in a way where you can actually tell what's going on too, which is a flaw of many action films that have come out lately.

If you can download this, do it. Otherwise, it's coming out January 30th in the States. I swear to god you will not be disappointed if you are a fan of The Bourne films or the new Bond films.http://images.absolutepunk.net/images/buttons/edit.gif (http://www.absolutepunk.net/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=28285012) This movie had so many "holy shit!" moments for me.

I really can't get over how good this was. Great reviews on IMDB.

One of my favorite scenes ever is when he shoots Jean Claude's wife.

That's what happens when you sit behind a desk. You forget things - like the weight in the hand of a gun when it's loaded and one that's not.

okay...well maybe you aren't a fan of action films om general then, unless you want to explain. If you like any of the new James Bonds or Bourne's....I'm pretty sure there's no way you can't at least enjoy this movie somewhat.

Finally got around to watching this movie, it was fucking awesome. It wasn't the greatest thing ever but it was a really fun watch and one of the better action/thrillers of the year. It was a mix between James Bond and Ransom. It had a straight forward storyline, no bullshit plotlines, and a solid ending. Liam Neeson had a really good performance, to be honest I was never a huge fan of him, but I really liked him in this. Definitely a must see.

This pretty much summed up the only negative part of the movie for me and it really didn't matter to me because I wasn't looking for some huge metaphorical or philosophical ending or storyline with political undertones and blahblahbal:

"The only negative going against this film is that it's not original. The most obvious example of a film with the same story is Arnold Schwarzenegger's B-Grade action classic, "Commando", where the big man had only 11 hours to save his daughter after she was kidnapped. A few details are different in "Taken" but essentially it's the same thing. This isn't really too bad because the style and casting of "Taken" more than make up for its lack of originality. If one were to nitpick, one might find it a tad unbelievable that one man is capable of doing so many things (ie the one man army), but that's all part of the fun."

Yeah thats what I liked most about it, the story was straight forward, it was simple (and yes somewhat unoriginal), there was no big conspiracy or something going on, it was just some dudes that took girls and they took the wrong one. I also kind of enjoyed how the dude wasn't really ever matched in skill by anyone (except for maybe the dude at the very end). He was easily able to kick 20 + guys' asses without breaking a sweat, even the last dude was a fairly easy fight. Yeah its unrealistic that someone can be that good, but if he does have all those skills then no one should really have the ability to beat him. Most other movies have this awesome action guy that is suppose to be "the best" but then there are all these real close fight scenes. This one basically just showed Liam Neeson destroying everyone that was in his path.

yeah, I really enjoyed that he was pretty unstoppable. But like...he STILL shows injury..for instance when he jumps on the boat...you see him wincing/limping pretty hardcore afterwards. It's not like he was able to block every hit or anything.

I love the part where he plays it like he's dead with the bodies and then caps the guy

I completely agree in regards to the brilliance in the simplicity of the kidnapping, as you said no big conspiracy it was just bad luck.

So many badass parts in that movie. I'm gonna go see it again whenever it's out in theaters. I'm recommending it to everyone.

Apparently there is already work on a sequel to this movie....: http://joblo.com/taken-2-coming

Bad idea! I loved this movie, but there is definitely no need for a sequel. Part of what I liked so much in the movie was that there was no bullshit, it had a clear beginning and ending, moved really fast and it didn't try to set it up for a sequel or anything. I would love to see more action movies with Liam Neeson but not another Taken.

Well, I think everyone else has already voiced how badass Neeson was in this movie was for me, so there's no need to repeat that. My only gripe with it was how the fuck did they get back to the States so easily? Jean Claude tried having him arrested, then Liam SHOT JEAN CLAUDE'S WIFE, went on and killed a billion more people, then made it back home seemingly with no trouble. I was perfectly fine with suspending my disbelief for the entire movie before that part.

Watched this again tonight and I gotta say it's one of the greatest action movies ever if not my top one. Every time I'm on edge and rooting for Liam Neeson. If they made a movie where Mr. Neeson was a pussy I wouldn't believe it. The motherfucker was this dude and also Qui-Gon Jinn, who is in my top 10 Jedi of a ll time, so. Ya I love the dude, can't wait for part 2. I know it won't be as good but hell, any movie where Liam Neeson kicks ass is okay with me. Can't wait for The Grey.
