The critics have it all wrong, this movie is beautiful.

I loved it, but do admit the story line is a little ridiculous. The music is what saves it, and Freddie Highmore

The plotline is pretty ridiculous but I thought the music was pretty awesome.

I'll go ahead and say what pretty much everyone else has said. I didn't really like the movie overall but the music was great. My girlfriend was always telling me how much she hated it (especially because of the ending) and then one day I found it in her collection. When I asked why she owned it, she said the same thing, "I just really like the music."

I think the plot was supposed to be grandiose--with the flashbacks that lead to the main plot. But the ending was the best part. And when he learns the play guitar is the best scene in the movie.

It actually--the movie did--reminded me of the book The Thief Lord.

I dont get the hate either, yeah it was over the top but it wasn't trying to be realistic. I liked it.

Yeah, I thought I remembered seeing a trailer for that somewhere a while ago so I looked it up. I guess it was one of those straight to video things, but hey, your favorite book from childhood was made into a movie so who the hell cares right?

I also just noticed the entire movie is up on YouTube if you look for it...
