View Full Version : What's up with ska?
I dunno if it's just me, but doesn't ska suck? I mean.. come on, it's basically punk with trumpets and shit.. why ruin such godly music, by having trumpets? It's just not cool.. but I do like one ska band (basically because of the bands name: Distorted Penguins) Penguins and punk both own Ska.

Haha, I just looked at his profile.
I didn't know punk kids loved FOB now. And Slipknot. He's just too punk for words.

I would rather listen to ska for a week then sit through one slipknot song.

id rather slit my throat then sit through 3 slipknot songs (cause they have 2 good songs, but three would be too much)
and seriously, kid, never ever ever come back, there is already a ska thread on the front fucking page, and your whole reasoning for hating ska is arbitrary, please dive off of a bridge.

I'm not going to attack you, because well, if you had an IQ over 3 (which i'm hoping someday you'll achieve), you'd be able to realize the idiocy in your post.
Also, get your facts straight. Ska takes alot more influence from reggae than it does punk music. There's a difference between ska and ska-punk you know.

True, but ska is getting kinda stagnant. Catch-22 has been losing it since Tomas left, but Streetlight has put some hope in my life that it will change the face of ska..

Damn straight!
Slipknot!? Why the f**k would anybody even try to say that they listen to both that shit and Ska music? It just doesn't make sense!
Ska and Ska punk completely rock ass, and if I got my way this kid would be put into a padded cell with ska music playing continuously until he realises that he was wrong about it!

im not a huge ska fan but i think its just such a fun genre i love going to ska shows most ska will cheer you up. most ska bands tend to have talented musicians as well ie: the bassist from streetlight manifesto

Ska did not get its influences from reggae. Ska birthed reggae, dub, dance hall and rock steady.
