My buddy has an extra ticket but I have finals next week so I don't know if I am going to go.

I have mixed feelings on the fight. I think Oscar wants to fight him because he wants to retire (Even though he'll probably just fight again like every other "retired" oxer) beating one of the best pound for pound boxers in the world. It's just kind of lame that he's doing it against a guy about half his size. Pacquiao is great, I'm just not so sure about him having moved up from 112 to 154 in a matter of 3 years and not having enough reach or quickness that he normally does.

I am intrigued. I love Oscar but he is past his best. I completely agree with trindaddy. Pacquiao is arguably the most exciting offensive fighter on the planet but I struggle to see how he seriously hurts a man so much bigger whilst not being hurt himself.

i'm a huge pacquiao fan so obviously i'm rooting for him but i'm a bit nervous for him in this match. i see this coming down to a split decision. not predicting the winner but i have a feeling it's gonna be real close.

Really not a fan of De La Hoya, I'm hoping to see him drop this one. I don't know about Pacquiao's ability to take Oscar's punches, especially considering how he's moved up so far in the weight classes. He should put on a show offensively, I'm just not sure how long it'll last.

I'm not a De La Hoya fan at all, but I really think that he is way too big for Pacquiao. I have a feeling it'll be an defensive bout for Pacquiao, but he will definitely give us a great fight.

de la hoya wants to fight him because it will make him $62,342,342,342,300. approximated.

Meh, Pacman is a phenomenal fighter but as far as I am concerned Juan Manuel Marquez beat him twice and got poor decisions both times. As of now Pacquiao is the number one P4P but I will wait until he takes on Marquez again as well as Hatton, which will be an epic fight, to let go of all my doubts.

I get the feeling if Pacman comes through the Hatton challenge we may see a certain Mr Mayweather come out of retirement to fight him.

i doubt that there will be a marquez pacquiao III... manny could pull so much more money now, i wouldn't think he'd waste his time on someone he's tied and beaten already. even if it would pull interest of boxing fanatics, i don't think it would pull much money from the "everyday" fan who only watches the superfights....if that makes any sense.

hatton and pacman would be good. but pacman would pull it out. i haven't seen many hatton fights personally, but from what i've read, hatton goes in close with a few punches and leaves a lot of openings as he backs off. isnt this a style pacman would LOVE to fight?

i also wouldnt be surprised if pacman/pbf was the next fight. pbf's ego couldnt handle talk about someone else being so good without him at least competing.

It absolutely makes sense and I completely agree with you that it won't happen for the reasons you stated.

Yeah, Pacman would love to fight Hatton but Hatton would love to fight Manny. Both styles would make for a straight up brawl. Difference I think is that against De La Hoya the Pacman didn't have to fight a strength fight, it was all about exchanges from mid-range. Oscar couldn't handle the ferocity of the combos he was throwing for many reasons but the main one was the class of the opponent. Hatton on the otherhand would make things close range, fighting in a postbox stuff. That would show up Pacman being the smaller man which didn't come into play at all with DLH. The Hitman is stronger and unlike against PBF would get to use the strength to force Pacquiao onto the back foot. That could make it interesting.

I still think Pacman's offensive arsenal would come through for him.

Haha, Floyd is a moron but a once in a generation boxing talent. Him against Pacman would be the ultimate fight of the past two decades.
