Lord of the Rings being my favorite story of all time, I felt obligated to make this poll. I felt like there were so many heroes in the story that it was a tough choice to pick my favorite. But as a character I had to choose Legolas because he was a total badass. It was close between him and Sam for me...

This is impossible because each character has so much depth, but Gollum (Smeagol) is one of the most complex and well-drawn characters in the history of literature, in my opinion.

Others vying for my vote included Legolas and Treebeard.

Gandalf is just a bad ass, both in the film and the book.

Haha you pointed out the exact reason I did this poll. I've come to the conclusion that it is truly near impossible to pick a favorite. And you are very right, each character does have so much depth which makes it incredible.

LOTR is one of the few things that actually deserves the word epic.

I went with Aragorn, but they are all incredible characters.

Sam. He is a great example of a true friend.
Yeah it was very amazing how many times he saved the entire journey, not to mention Frodo himself haha

I think it's because each character is so in depth and tends to attract different personalities. Honestly I could understand reasoning why one would choose each person.

aragorn is awesome!
legolas is cool cos he's an elf, but seeing orlando bloom plays him i cant vote for him because he's dating miranda kerr and thats just not right.
