Live I didnt think Dustin could hit the notes that well but his screaming sounded awesome.

As for Jesse, it was the complete opposite, the screaming as not so good but sounded fine otherwise.

Don't get me wrong I love Brand New, it just gets annoying when I see em on the cover of Alternative Press every other month and Jesse just implies how amazing they're and how they're better than everyone. I feel like 1 out of a million saying this, but I liked Your Favorite Weapon a lot more than Deja Entendu, it was a lot more fun and didn't sound so, dare I say, pretentious.

Whoever was mixing should've lowered the volume of whoever was singing the higher part during the verses, as that's the back-up vocal in the actual song and the lower part is the lead.

I bet it would've been special to hear live and in the moment. Even with amazing sound quality I doubt it was THAT good.

Still really cool though. And I still love the guitar part in the chorus.

I personally think lacey > kensrue just because i think dustins voice is generic. I actually think the waivering and emotion in jesse's voice makes it unique.

Also, i think the cover blew. The guitars were out of tune, and the singing was off pitch. Bad night for thrice. Ive seen them live before about 4 times though and they were on point 3/4 times so nothing against those guys

I love "Quiet Things". It's a beautiful song, and one of Brand New's best.

That said, we all know Thrice didn't cover this to make it their own song. They covered it because they knew being in Jersey, every kid there that night wanted to see Brand New for the first time in forever so long...it was done as a crowd singalong.

I've seen both bands live, and Thrice's live show is better than Brand New's as well as Dustin being a better singer than Jesse. It's two different styles, but if you want proof, go find the impromptu cover of "Round Here" by Dustin, and go find the acoustic version of "Quiet Things".
