I love this album. I was a bit disappointed because its really upbeat, and Oh Inverted World! was my ultimate drive-home hangover album and I wanted a new one for that. Luckily, I remembered good ol' American Football.

I unfortunately missed out on seeing The Shins live Sunday. I'm sad. :( I have friends who went and had to rub it in at school today. Fuckers.

Wow I expected this thread to be much larger, such a great album. Love the slightly lo-fi feel of this and Oh, Inverted World.

Absolutely love this album. It's unfortunate that Garden State went full circle in making it cool to like the Shins to uncool to like the Shins.

Just recently got into this band, I really dug Oh Inverted World and Wincing the Night Away. I just bought Chutes too Narrow, hopefully its as great as the others

Seriously, though, James Mercer writes gorgeous lyrics. They're not even one of my favorite bands or anything, but his lyrics are first rate.

I didn't say I didn't enjoy his lyrics. I don't enjoy this band musically, find them boring honestly.

It's not like I said they suck, because I don't think they do. I'm just not interested in it.
