i can't even tell you guys how much i love this album. it's so genius it should be criminal. i have never heard ANYTHING like it in my life, and it's so beautiful i cry when i listen to it's blazin' solos and Cedric's passionate tenor screams, just as much as i am entranced with it's 6 minute ambience. I don't know if you've heard this album, but it's incrdible. it DEFIES classification, and those that DO classify it need to break down their barriers and let the Mars Volta in. i am in love. :love:

I think it's good, but "defies classification"? Give me a break, let's try "progressive rock" for starters.

I really like this CD. The further you get into it the more different things you'll encounter. The third song which is half in spanish half in english (one is rock 'n roll which has spanish lyrics with them and the other is mellow latin kinda music where they sing in english) is just awesome to listen to. The only thing I didn't like is when at the end of a song you have to listen to a couple of minutes of noises. After a couple of times you keep skipping those parts.
