this is unrelated. but pat, im not sure if you already know about this. but if you go over to the ernie ball battle of the bands contest, its a really good way to hear a lot of unsigned bands because you can listen to the band with the most plays in each state. ive already found a few in the last few minutes.

yeah, I agree, but if you don't know much about this type of music and only listen to the radio or just know the big bands (Blink-182, Brand New, Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, etc.) , then you might not have heard of some of em

We were telling them all how stoked we were to be playing with them, cuz we kinda hosted the concert, and they were all like, "no way dude! it was all our pleasure! thank you so much for inviting us!" plus, we got wasted with the guys from DTEA after the show, so it was a good time, haha

It means that people are actually really starting to learn about them and enjoy their music without me pushing them really hard at everyone. It's a trickle-down effect basically and I'm glad its starting to work, that's all.

I think they write great songs and have incredible meanings behind them (which is really cool that you can read about them on their site), but the thing that makes me just like them more than any other band is the people behind the music. They brutal honesty and incredible work ethic they have and how much they care about what they do just makes it seem so much more incredible. To use one of the best examples, they were talking with an Island/Def Jam rep. one night and he mentioned them changing their songs around and Archie just told him flat out, "no thanks, we don't do that" and told him to take a hike. I really respect any musician or artist who is that confident in themselves to be able to turn down something that big in favor of preserving their artform.
