I have a strong opinion on this one, and I hope most people vote the same way....but there were a lot of awesome, perfectly sculpted kids shows in the 90s, and Im just curious to which one was the greatest.

Im sticking to mainly live action...so cartoons for this one. We have

-Pete and Pete
-Are Your Afraid of the Dark
-The Wonder Years
-Boy Meets World
-Salute Your Shorts
-Clarissa Explains It All
-Saved By the Bell
-Other (list below)

I cannot decide. I adore every single one of these shows.

Really, really torn between Saved by the Bell and Boy Meets World. That being said, those two are the smallest margin above the rest..as all are INCREDIBLE.
Same here.

The Wonder Years?

I remember seeing The Wonder years on TV when I was a kid but not really comprehending it until it was near the tail end of the series. That being said, I did get into it enough to make me go back and watch it from the beginning and really love it. It is a staple series for the last generation I suppose.

i actually feel the same. I don't really remember The Wonder Years.

I can't decide between Boy Meets World and Pete and Pete.

They were all such great shows though. I honestly feel bad for kids these days, they got nothin' on TV.

Show that's missing: Growing Pains

guys the answer is pete and pete....haha this wasn't supposed to be so hard.

in terms of comedic value, aesthetic value, an in terms of a show that can never be duplicated (pun?)...pete and pete was the absolute perfect show. It combined "growing up" themes with outrageous plots. And the music alone makes you want to cry....seriously. Watch the first season of Pete and Pete, and I guarantee it makes you cry. It's the only show on this list that really makes me wish I was a kid again.... btw, the band that plays the music in pete and pete is called "Polaris". Since this is a music intended site, pete and pete was also one of the only kid shows that captured the 90s alternative music style in its show.

dont get me wrong. I loved Boy Meets World. Out of all the shows its by far the funniest....but it was still very sitcomish...and with the correct writing and casting, another boy meets world type show could be made.

saved by the bell, although it has nostalgic power...was really just a silly show.

are you afraid of the dark was cool, salute your shorts was cool.

but nothing captured: 90s + Being a Kid + Great Writing...quite like pete and pete.

Boy Meets World is killing, and honestly I thought most of the characters were annoying. I still watched the show though.

Jesus, why didn't you just make it a Pete and Pete thread? It's cool if YOU think it's the best show. Why give a poll if we are just going to pick the wrong one anyway?

Don't make a poll and seem shocked at the OPINIONS of the people participating. Ignorance.
How is that ignorance? That word doesnt' apply to my actions what so ever. Just because I make the thread doesn't mean I cant have a strong opinion on one of the choices.

how is the wonder years not winning? boy meets world is great for nostalgiac purposes but the wonder years was groundbreaking and more than just a "kids show" or sitcom, but just a wonderfully done portrayal of growing up.

Although this show isn't anywhere near as great as the shows in the poll, I still have fond memories if only for Nicole Lyn being ridiculously hot.

I was never all that into that show. I found most of the characters to be obnoxious.

I have absolutely zero recollection what any of these shows were like other than Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and I'd probably hate them or find them incredibly stupid if I watched any of them today. So...I'll vote other, with other being absolutely nothing.

Yeah, after watching that Pete and Pete clip...sigh.

Oh no, I definitely would. I realize it wasn't a clip straight from the show, but that Pete and Pete video you posted reminded me of just how incredibly obvious it is that all of these shows are from the early 90's, which I hate. It's the same thing as when I watched Wayne's World for the first time last night...there's so much predictability and most of the rest is just plain not funny. Not to mention they're basically children's shows, which I don't watch anymore.

I don't know, maybe it's because I mostly watched cartoons when I was young (I can only remember watching like two of the shows in this poll). Then again, I can barely even remember what all of those cartoons were.

While I still say BMW is my favorite, I will admit that The Wonder Years is a very close second. It's sad that people voted Saved by the Bell over Wonder Years though. I liked Saved by the Bell, but it was so corny.

I've seen Saved by the Bell more times than The Wonder Years, that was my basis. I don't understand how anybody would pick Boy Meets World over the rest. It's a good show, but those characters annoy the hell out of me.

Honestly not as much as Cory Matthews yelling UNDAPANTS. He got so much worse as he got older in the show, same with Eric.

Agree on the Eric getting dumber throughout the show, but Cory to me, got funnier the more he lightened up. Plus, he still had a serious side. Anyway we discuss this, it's all opinion, and I prefer BMW and you prefer SBTB, it's all good.

At least we're not pushing our shows on anyone like the OP. I just wish there were a few less votes for BMW, that's all. A poll like this with so many quality shows shouldn't end up in a landslide.

Wonder years gets my vote!! I remember watching that show growing up with my dad...and then watching basically the entire series a year or two ago during nick at nite for awhile...

that vote makes me feel old.

but Boy Meets World, is a close second.
