Just a sailor bard with these sailor songs
Clouds blue breath to tell I’m alive
And warm formed notes to keep my stride.
Across these old boards over new borderlines
There’s no constant tick to my maritime.
Your fine print single file regimen cotillion
Your commercial made imperious mannequin dance
I laugh, I cry, I pull the pin.
My effortless soul takes toil to grow.
The marvel of a child and the quill of a man
Just don’t walk away or speak so soon
Don’t you know I’m listening too?
Unclaimed ripe chances are ours to grasp
So open up a little, cause we’re headed to ashes
But seriously whatever, look, it’s funny...
Something’s lighting my way and I’m stepping in further
Not away from you, mind, I’ll get tired of clues
From time to time, but never of you.
Rise, redefine, reunite and align.
Let’s keep going.
Oh, stop moving.
They’re staring so hard with bills in hand
I’ll fly and find that blue breath again.
Holding what I need starts with my letting go.
Art is the fire that makes this steel train run.
In words, with days, I’m leaving out lies.
There’s simply no time between starboard and sail
And letters from vocation, and heaven and home.
I see this place how you hear from the saints.
Awe is where I go when nobody knows.
Maybe you’d follow me, I’m making this up as I go.

Sailor and ocean-related metaphors are pretty much done to death. Other than that, this was enjoyable enough to keep me reading.

haha. It's hilarious that you said that, because this was for a friend who commented on that same thing. But he also said he liked those metaphors a lot. I intentionally made this theme a tribute to that.
