Am I the only one that doesn't like this CD? I don't know what it is.. I tried to like it. I listened to it al the way through a few times and just couldn't get into it.. too bad.

I agree, the melodies aren't strong at all. The whole album goes right through me and nothing sticks in my head after I'm done listening to it. Except the song "Act Appalled", which is the only one that is even remotely catchy or interesting (in my opinion).

I do all the time. I think that this album has incredible lasting power. the vocals alone carry it.

I love each individual song, but it doesn't feel like an album to me. Something's missing. It just isn't cohesive at all.

Ok let me try again and put in my final thoughts...
pretty good review at emotionalpunk, but I would not give it a perfect score. I just feel like it borderlines being a great CD, and the energy could be a little bigger. However, I went into this with HIGH expectations from Anthony Green so even though it didn't blow me away, it still ranks pretty high on my list.

this album is pretty damn good. it'll be in my player all summer long i'm sure. for all the naysayers, i bet their sophomore cd will be out of control.

oh yeah, sorry im not "scene" anymore ill go ahead and keep my scene any way, i love daryls vocals and geoffs lyrics and vocals are amazing as well, and just wait untill Thursday releases another cd. it will be awesome, as for Glassjaw, i dont know if they ever will, i really hope they do though.

Andrew at emotionalpunk gives weird ratings in my opinioin. To say its a perfect album by giving it a 10 is very missleading. It is a good album, but a 10?? Hell no... I would go more along the line of a 8 because like many people have said, it just gets boring at times and it doesn't stick in your head.

and the album is definitely not a 10....i would say 7-8 range. 10 being...hmmm deloused by volta i guess, or relationship of command by atdi. coheeds sstb is prob a low/mid 9. i think people are to generous with numbers sometimes...a 10 should come around once every year...maybe twice if we get lucky.

I don't think there should be a cap on the amount of tens, it's possible for a dozen or so perfect albums to be released in a year, maybe not within the same genre, but it can happen. But I agree that people usually are generous with the numbers. I liked IKSOSE:3 better than SSTB.

i guess youre right about no capping the amount of perfection, i was just trying to show how many '10's' are given out...often to albums that dont deserve above an 8. If you go through this sites reveiws...and just about every other site for that matter, the amount of 10's handed out is ludicrous. i guess this is kind of a stupid argument though, because a rating is just a number and an opinion...so ill shut up now.


and i go back and forth between in keeping and sstb(coheed is probably my favorite band)....theres songs on in keeping that are so far beyond some of the others it makes me angry and everything evil is on sstb so...yeahhhh.

I don't think this album is 10, but maybe a 9.7, the last song just seems out of place. if people just stopped trying to think this is a saosin part 2 they would enjoy it so much more.

well the Saosin EP because it makes you want to listen to it over and over and over. The Receiving End of Sirens, the album is just imense and I find it incredible. Jimmy Eat World's Clarity, by far one of the most beautiful albums ever written. Green Day's Dookie, do I need to explain why... probably not. A 10 means perfect, its hard to write a perfect album. These albums are a 10 in my book but maybe a 3 in someone else's. Thats the beauty of music.
