I've only heard The Kooks, not The Tings Tings. The Kooks aren't good, but one of my friends rave about them in hopes for indie cred.

Same. Viva La Vida, IMO, is much better than the older Coldplay stuff, but still gets very boring very fast.

MGMT are probably my favorite new band of the year. But this list is compiled by the users, so I can see how Coldplay would be at the top of it.

i mean, this is not really what the last.fm editors think are the best, they're ranked on the basis of whats been listened to most. so with that in mind, im actually very glad and not surprised death cab's narrow stairs made the list, its a good mainstream album.

Foals are topping my album of the year. I was also surprised not to see Vampire Weekend on there either.
