View Full Version : hometown heroes?

does your state/city have a band that is kinda considered the "hometown heroes"?
like for example for minnesota its four letter lie and sing it loud (more the first one than the second, and that statement is up for debate if you wanna talk about it.)

if so who is it and why?

The place I'm from has:

Ed Westwick - Chuck in Gossip Girl, he was also only a year or two above me at school.
Lewis Hamilton - F1 champion

there have also been a few footballers come out of here, too

EDIT: I'm an idiot and thought I was in the general forum...

Anyway, both My Passion and Enter Shikari are from round here. Theyre pretty popular but very shit if you ask me.

1. That was a terrible attempt at taking a shot at me.

2. Instead of throwing half ass digs, do yourself a favor and DL The Replacements "Tim" or Husker Du's "New Day Rising"

Your state had a beautiful music scene long before bullshit like Four Letter Lie. Also, for the record, FOB > Four Letter Lie. :-)

i knew he had surgery but i hadnt really heard anything about him for a while. he was sick for a couple years there. and culpeppers knee got totally fucked up so its not entirely his fault, i just dont like him and think he is fat.

I could care less about Daunte. Not that many people from my hometown actually know he's from there.

But Hampton is my mom's cousin. He's an awesome guy. I'm just glad he's back and ready to go.

Story of the Year is St. Louis's... maybe some would point out ludo and of course the hip\hop community would say Nelly.

Although... overall most people would say Chuck Berry.

Yeah. Brandon is pretty much IN Tampa. I would consider "hometown" area to be anything within 15 or 20 miles.

seems like a lot of people who live in big cities are just lumping in every band from the general area. when i hear hometown i think a pretty local area, like the town you are from. not just "oh im from new york city so every band to ever be in new york is from my hometown."
