Jack's Mannequin (www.jacksmannequin.com) (Andrew of Something Corporate's side-project) have added two new songs to their myspace (http://www.myspace.com/jacksmannequin) page.

I'm kinda surprised (though I'm not sure why), by how much I like them.

Why have a side project that sounds exactly the same?

The story is, SoCo (or maybe just Andrew) is pissed at Geffen, so he's doing something that's not SoCo, to get new music out.

I think I have that story right.

It was clearly a rhetorical question.

It doesn't sound the same though. It's more mature, more reflective. I love it. I feel the same way. I left my home of 18 years in 2003 to go somewhere I wasn't ever really intending on going or even thought of going. I can relate, which makes every listen that much better. I miss her, and as time passes, no one compares.

Andrew MacMahon can't write a bad song. I admire his talent as a musician, and I hope to listen to his music for many, many years to come, regardless of which "project" it spawns from. Great songs.

Hopefully I cna go to the CT show, I'll be in CT all summer. So, yeah, fuck anyone who doesn't lie these songs. They rock!

They sound pretty much like SoCo, but, what's the matter? The more bands he got, the more songs we enjoy. I love them.

The base sound is still there, and while more mature and reflective, they still come off as being the exact same thing one would expect from the next Something Corporate record.

I love the songs I've heard, especially Kill the Messenger, which I got on a sampler a few weeks ago, but it's still rather odd that there would be a side project that sounds just like the original band.

the band REALLY got started because of his break up that he had. every single song is a reflection of that.. and what he was going through.

i thought kill the messenger really had a soco sound.. but after I saw him live with JM.. it is NOT the same as soco. the vibe was totally different.

I give him mad props on this project. if you get a chance, GO SEE A SHOW.. they are amazing.

It doesn't really remind me of Somehting Corporate that much, the music is pretty different, the voice still remains.

I love them both, especially "Into the Airwaves". These will be two songs that remind me of the start of summer. :)

Oh just kidding. They were put up last week- May 11th, so I guess it's fairly recent.

They have a bunch of lives videos of JM over at www.jacks-mannequin.com

The live show was awesome last night in Columbus. The CD sounds like it's going to be totally awesome. It's not like a soco show at all.
