As someone who has ended up in the friend zone a fair few times from not making my intentions clear, just be clear. Tell the girl you're interested in dating her, she might not feel the same way yet, but if you let her know with you're words and your actions, she'll should come around eventually.

Honestly, I think the reason this seems to happen (besides daddy issues and whatnot) is that guys who act like douchebags tend to do so confidently. I've met a lot of nice guys who really aren't confident in that because of this stigma that nice guys finish last, and most girls aren't into that. The one thing guys fail to understand is that confidence is really the key to getting girls.
