Thrice (www.thrice.net) have finished the basic tracking of 10 of the 15 songs they're planning on recording and Dustin is currently working on vocals. The band spent most of this week doing overdubs, vocals, drum loops, and guitar tones. Yesterday, the band went to an old house and recorded some group vocals and piano tracks in a room with a huge vaulted ceiling. The guys have the day off today and plan to crank out the last five songs once they pick up again on Sunday. The guys have been happy with the 'bust out a few songs, take a break' approach and have found the time to experiment with a lot of neat things. Expect a studio video in the near future.

mmmmmmmm so excited for this album
Why the fuck don't you just post the exact thing Riley posted at their site, for their newest studio update instead of typing the whole thing up and trying to make it sound like you got this info straight from the band?
"hi. greetings from the woods. here's the latest... we've got basic tracking done for 10 of the 15 songs we're planning on recording. dustin is doing some vocals as i type this. we spent most of this week doing overdubs, vocals, experimenting with shooting drum loops into the forest, and messing with guitar tones. today, we went up to this old house up the hill from the studio and recorded some group vocals and piano tracks (on a busted old piano) in a room with a huge vaulted ceiling. i had the week off and spent most of it programming electronic loops and playing MVP 2005 on xbox. good times. we've got the day off tomorrow, and i think the plan is to go geek out and see revenge of the sith. from what i've heard/read, people either think it rules and is the best since empire strikes back, or people think it absolutely honks. i'm going in with zero expectations...maybe i'll find that elusive middle ground. we'll be back tracking on sunday, i'll crank out the last five songs (it's been nice doing a few songs at a time and then taking a break, instead of blowing it all out in a week or two), and then we'll concentrate on vocals, programming, overdubs, segues, and fine-tuning everything. we're all excited about how things are sounding. we've definitely experimented a bunch with tones, mic placements, and recording locations, so it's going to be cool to get to mix a record with a ton of options as far as tones and ambience goes. teppei has been editing some studio footage over the past few days, so hopefully we'll have some video clips for you guys to check out some time next week.
peace,

Someone's gotta chillax!
Anyway, after all these years I still haven't totally made up my mind on these guys. Sometimes I love them and sometimes I'm very luke warm about them I dunno. I think this album should push me one way or the other.

Between what I've heard Thrice wants to do with this record, and them being Thrice, I'm really looking forward to this album.
