I may have done one of these before, and it might be different than the one I'm about to post, but I'm fairly sure the following is how I will always feel.
1) Joan of Arc (expansive discography, diverse, absolutely brilliant)
2) Cap'n Jazz (highly influential in my music taste, amazing music)

5) Make Believe
6) Owen

http://joanfrc.com/bands.html has always been a great resource for anyone want to get further into cap'n jazz family of bands, but it looks like it's under construction now.
As far as my personal tastes are concerned, here's how I feel about them:
Mike = Davey > Victor > Tim > Sam
Tim's talented and clever, but all his stuff is so off the wall. I'd usually much rather listen to American Football, Owen, Promise Ring, or Maritime.

Aww haha I didn't mean it to be insulting at all, I just can't get into Owen's music post-2006 at all. Mike likes to come off as pretentious in person as well, which doesn't help turn me on to his music. Other than that, I'm a huge fan of Owls, which is my favorite of all the Kinsella bands. I don't know, they grew up in (or around) Chicago in the 90's. Pretty sure they blazed.
Tim admitted he wrote most of Cap'n Jazz's lyrics while on mushrooms... They blazed

That's me
I'm following you,

something that still makes me laugh is the exchange on the Owen myspace page where someone tries to tell mike that he ripped off AF "never meant" and what an asshole he is.

Felt a little bit self-loathing tonight, so I put this on... Typical day in the life of Brian

I taught myself the opening riff to "never meant" last night on my guitar. I feel pretty accomplished now.

I've done the same. Did you have a tune down to a strange tuning?

sure did!
I've been lucky enough to see Owen twice...though I would probably give both of my testicles and possibly a kidney to get a chance to see American Football live.

Same. It's actually a pretty cool tuning if you dabble around in it for awhile. Had some pretty cool stuff coming out when I was jamming out that song.

So jealous. I'd kill to see Owen but he never comes to Utah.

Honestly? in reverse... Wait for the vocals to kick in... Well worth it

That sucks. Has he toured any since he put out Ghost Town?
I just got lucky with going to school in a certain place...the first time was with Anathallo, Aloha, and Unwed Sailor at macrock 2008. Second time was with himself at a fundraiser put on by some organization on campus. I have no idea why they booked him...all I know is that it cost five bucks and was just as awesome as the first time I saw him.

The one with the wurlitzer is the best closer to an emo album.

"I'll see you when we're both not so emotional" is still one of my favorite ends to a song.
