Stem Cell Research Debate

Cal and I will be doing our debate (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=72323) this week on stem cell research. This has been in the news somewhat recently as a result of battles over federal funding in Washington. The debate will start around 7-ish PST and end probably around an hour after that.

how come all music people a liberals...

i wouldnt say "all music people" but i would say people that listen to different types of music are more prone to different schools of thought and realization... like more people on this website are more likely to be liberal... not sure why... but i am writing my senior thesis for psychology on the connection between music/ politics/ personality... its gonna be sweet, im excited

anyway back to stem cell research... i think its good, but eventually we will become to advanced for our own good and start playing god.

I think Stem-cell research is good, but only under certain circumstances. There are other ways to obtain the cells without using aborted babies such as: the umbilical cord, miscarriages...etc. etc.

You know that scene from The Matrix where the machines are breeding human beings by the thousand? Thats what our country is going to be if we dont use technology for good!!! :laugh:

yeah, of course stem research is good, but as we can all see there are bad people in this world and it will become a problem in the future if regulations are taken with a grain of salt and abused... but all and all i am totally for stem cell research for all the good that could become of it.

I think deep down all the music people that say they are liberal are closet conservatives too afraid of Fat Mike to come out ;) Besides, that's like saying there aren't many Christians in bands. There are, but we're all too afraid of crazy liberals holding us down. :) :)

While I am not a Republican, the media has (once again) lead us to believe many things that aren't true. Here is a fact, Bush has given more money to stem cell research than any president in history, and the science of it was around during Clinton's presidency. Thought I'd throw that out there.

Yea, I will give you that. I mean Franklin Roosevelt was an inspirational Democrat but he did jack squat for stem cell research.
