we all have them. bands that we listened to when they only had a few hundred kids listening to them. you swore they were gonna be huge and eventually dominate the whole country. but then they broke up...
Moraine (Metuchen, NJ) - www.myspace.com/moraine
i saw these guys for the first time when they opened up for valencia. i was just blown away and i became obsessed. i think they were getting looks from labels but they turned down a bunch of offers =/ anyways they were just awesome straight up pop punk
Bangarang (Lansdale, PA) - www.myspace.com/bangaranghoes
i forget how i discovered these guys, but immediately fell in love their fast pop punk, sprinkled with breakdowns here and there. i never got to see them though and i feel like there is something missing in my life =(
now that you've read my whining, its you're turn XD

A really good metal band in Alaska, they were getting famous just through word of mouth and myspace, but unfortunately the singer moved and they broke up. :(

Don't know how to describe it; wishes it was post-hardcore with a Hayley Williams type singer?
Their recordings are terrible, but these guys put on a good show opening for Bedlight For Blue Eyes and The Sequence. That girl's voice is incredible. Check out "All That Remains"
Bridgetown- www.myspace.com/bridgetownrock
Indie/rock with piano.
JUST broke up. Great band, their song "Sound The Alarm" on their page is pretty damn catchy.

Ironically enough their was a local area band around here called In Fear and Faith, they were really great and had great stage prescence every show of theirs you felt like you were seeing a band that had been playing in front of tons of people( They managed to open for lost prophets and played I believe one or two pointfest),but they eventually broke up and 2 of the guys in the band worked with victory records for awhile and then they put out a acoustic song as their new band name monster eats manhattan but nothing has really ever happened with it.

The producer they worked with was still learning at that point so he never captured their energy, but live, I've seen very few bands who've matched them.

This band played at the first house show I ever attended all those years ago, and that experience helped changed the scope of my music consumption and DIY roots. Then I moved to Nashville for a couple of years and when I came back, I looked them up thinking that maybe they got signed to a good label, only to find out they broke up. That was a sad, sad day. That left a huge hole in the Williamsburg/NoVA/VT scene.

I remember seeing them open for somebody (it's been years...maybe Baroness?) and they had a ridiculously different sound than what I was expecting. I might have seen them once more in a bar somewhere after that but that's it. They had a good sound to them.
