View Full Version : Conservative Rock Bands?

I've been thinking about this today...Most bands are openly liberal and are big advocates of the democratic party and all that...But what are some bands that are openly conservative?

The only one I could think of was Forever the Sickest Kids

Yeah... they are very conservative. Go look at all the band members' myspace pages. Jonathan has John McCain as his top friend, and Sarah Palin as his 2nd.

i bet a lot of the shitty christian bands people jock on this site like underoath and norma jean are super conservative but they won't admit it because it would lose them fans.

12/07/08, 05:38 PM
Definitely. A lot of the tooth and nail roster has got to be.

i think part of my disdain for these bands stem from this. they all act apolitical when they espouse pretty political messages. i mean underoath used to say they weren't political at all while claiming that 95% of what fat mike says is wrong (fat mike being a moderate democrat).

I'm sure you're right about that. Especially when it comes to Underoath.

You should of thought about the baby before you had sex, because you have destroyed a gift from God
You killed, you destroyed
Never will this baby be able to grow up, or show it's love
You'll never hear it say 'I love you, I love you'
God does not give you the privilege to carry a child for nothing

From Burden in Your Hands on Act of Depression. Sounds pretty super conservative to me.

Those lyrics are lolz filled.

Haha, I should have used that quote when I was arguing a while back about why Underoath's lyrics always suck and seem to be saying "Hey, I'm better than you and my beliefs are the right beliefs."

And there's a trend I'm noticing here. People who make bad music tend to be conservative.

exactly. this doesn't surprise me in the least. it irritates me that they tried to push this "oh we're not judgmental" blah blah blah. fuck them. they know they wouldn't make money if they wrote songs like this now.

No there is definitley a trend here that any band that is conservative is a shitty christian, metal, country or corporate pop rock band.

i love that they think that saying saying punk is liberal is a conspiracy theory.

No. it's not a conspiracy that every punk band worth anything was liberal, if not extremely leftist. Cool, you got the member of the Ramones that caused the band to break up and one of the dudes in the misfits.

Forever The Sickest Kids are obvious because they're from Texas, and they're fucking stupid. Devil Wears Prada are probably angry that abortions are still legal in the U.S. not to mention that they probably just vote for whoever their "church" tells them to, but they are some of the lankiest fucking human beings on the planet and will never have children anyway so fuck them.
