Go read my latest article There Is No Liberal Media (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=72245). This one's pretty long.

Just to disagree...don't you feel that Newsweek publishing the article about Koran was a liberal view point? You didn't mention it once at all, or the fact that Newscorp. one of world's biggest companies has both conservative and liberal news companies under their corporation.

There will always be biasin the media because humans are bias. We cannot speak/think/report without any type of bias because we are impressionable/social beings. There are both conservative and liberal media view points. It's our obligation as citizens of this country to compare and contrast to make the most informed decisions possible, despite the bias/hiding of truths within the actual situations in the world.

many news sources are obviously biased. especially when the editor of NY Times admits it.

I am so used to right-leaning media that when I see objective reporting I think that it might be liberal biased. My brother did a series of articles during the election on several of the key issues. Recently he has been working on a Social Security article and I said, "Do you have the oppurtunity to put in any jabs at Bush like you did with the other articles?" He said he didn't in the others and when I re-read them, I realized that he was right. He just wrote the facts.
When the righties are confronted with facts they immediatley start crying "liberal media." Why do you think they are so censorship happy. They don't want us to have access to anything that will make us think too hard about what they are doing.

rambling- but there should be a point in there

Facts are pretty demonstrable, so care to provide me with some? The whole liberal media myth is just a straw man for the right wing's attack on liberalism. "Idealog" or no, he still shows the obvious, that the liberal media myth is unfounded and ridiculous.

there is bias in both directions, the major networks, vs. say fox news-there are obvious differences, i dont agree with the political articles on this sight. and lots of people do. just like individuals disagree, so do the people delivering the news.

i was watching CNN during the summer of 2002. There was a young girl that was raped and kidnapped in Florida. It was horrible. Then the commentator says out of the blue "How is this going to affect Jeb Bush's gubernatorial re-election?" As if the governor of Florida could keep bad things from happening.

It's shit like that. Just watch CNN for about fifteen minutes and see if they say anything about the Bush administration that isn't politically charged.
