well i can't really say that, coz i dig the killers. but here's my story.

everyone knows ska sucks right? good. (fuck off thats a joke, pop punk ska DOES fucking suck, but if we are talking the eng. beat then that is okay) ..

so maybe you are tired of the new wave rock trendy omgzzz i dress post-modern (whatever the fuck that means) .. if so, then this will make you laugh. i'm sure by now you have heard of the new rock fued between label mates the killers and the bravery on their "skanking pasts"

well what you probably didn't know is that members of The Bravery, The Killers and The Stills all used to be in ska bands ... when it was cool of course !!!! (as we all know now, it is not cool, we must dress in off beat styles and and and wear make up)

(this is all according to Spin magazine)

Sam Endicott - UGLY fucking front man for the Bravery, he looks like he was a real ugly kid growing up and he needs a new hair style .. anyways he's a huge douche bag that is ashamed of his past and won't fess up to his previous ska times...

"Pompadoured Bravery frontman fa.g dude THE CRIME: at vassar college, endicott did some time w/ ska hacks SKABBA THE HUT, who were semifamous for their dreadful name and the fact that CSI: MIAMI actor Jonathan Togo was their alto sax man: THE VERDICT: GUILITY, because endicott has yet to fess up to his past crimes which include rocking some truly awful white guy-DREADS and being part of a band whose motto was "bust a nut w/ skabba the hut" "

------now's he's uber cool w/ his fashion sense !!!!!

moving right along.......

to that drummer douche bag in the killllllllllllers RONNIE VANNUCCI .... "playing drums for vegas ska ensemble Attaboy Skip, which included two "sax-amo-fone" players. they became known for their ironic covers of blah blah blah all you need to know is that he is a twat annnnnnnnnnnd: THE VERDICT: guilty ---juuuuuust wont fess up to it...

and noooooow

The Stills - they just suck, and every one of them was in a ska band.

two others were Alex from Franz Ferdinand and the guys in The Walkmen (fucking rad band) .. however they are not ashamed of their past ska bands .. and happily admit them!

That's some funny shit. What's so bad about being in a ska band? You look like more of an idiot of you don't confess to it than if you do.

I dig the Killers every so often, but this dance-rock stuff is starting to bug the hell out of me.

Pat, not trying to start an argument or anything. But don't throw so much shit towards SKrAtch3. For one, they're really good friends of mine, and two, they're a really talented band. Sure, they have a ridiculously bad name, which is blatantly obvious and even they must be aware of the fact (how couldn't you be?), but since when has a bands name ever mattered? And as bad as the name is, at least get it right. SKrAtch3. Take notice that the capitals spell out "SKA". But anyways, they're an awesome ska band who fuse together all forms of ska, and tend to focus on the more reggae influenced side of the genre. Trust me, if you really do like the ska stuff you've mentioned before (English Beat, etc. etc.), I guarantee you'll enioy this band. Their album drops later this year, and i'll hit you up when it's out. I think you just might like it. Anyways, that's just my two cents man.

No, I understand dude. I just really really really really can't stand that name. Yeah, I shouldn't say it like that because making music (no matter what style) is not easy and I should be more respectful. Band names really don't matter, but for some reason I just can't handle that name. ha.

Oh, and on the topic of the "pop-punk ska bands" coming out today, which some are calling the "4th wake of ska", it has it's ups and downs just like anything else. There's no sense looking that far into it, just to say the entire genre sucks as a whole. I mean, are you honestly saying bands like Less Than Jake, the Mad Caddies, Mustard Plug, and Suburban Legends are uninspired and shitty? I mean, c'mon man, I don't even understand how anyone could even touch on having an opinion like that. If it's not your thing, I understand completely. However, to come straight out and say bands in that genre suck and lack inspiration is just ridiculous. It's fun music man, take it or leave, I just hate seeing all the negativity towards a genre so focused on peace, unity, and overall optimism.

Haha, fair enough, i'm not saying i'm a big fan of the name myself. But honestly, I think you might have a soft spot for these guys.

I don't exactly see what the point is here? So the drummer of the killers was in a ska band......? so?

Ska is terrible.

But the Killers are a dance band, and Ska is basically dance music, so I dont understand what the big deal is. They went from wearing plaid pants to suits?
