I'll give you the whole entire breakdown from beginning to end...

Old Lineup- Beau, Anthony(vocals), Justin, Zach(bass), Pat (temporary studio drummer)
Current Lineup- Beau, Cove, Jusin, Chris, Alex

Beau(guitarist/producer)), Justin(guitarist), and Alex(drummer) were all former members of Open Hand. Cove replaced Anthony Green (who now sings in Circa Survive and who quit in about January of 2004). Anthony lives in Pennsylvania, Saosin are located in Orange County, CA. Anthony flew home in December/January to be with his family for teh first time since joining the band and when he was supposed to fly back to CA to start recording the band's new record, he didn't show up at the airport and when the band called him to ask where he was, he said he was finished. Anthony was going to take the name "Saosin" with him, being that he created it and it was his idea, but then changed his mind and allowed the guys to keep the name. After a long hiatus and a long hunt for a new singer, Cove reber posted some demos of himself in the Saosin message boards and the band fell in love and Beau was quoted saying: "We thought he was Anthony Green playing a prank on us". Cove then came up on stage during one of Sao's Warped Tour shows and totally butchered and destroyed, "I can Tell That There Was A disaster Here Already" and kids totally neglected and bashed him after hearing the live Mp3 of the performance that surfaced a month or two later. Beau justified Cove's lack of performance by saying he was "nervous" and having "anxiety issues" before playing, being that it was his first performance on stage in his entire life... reasonable. Anthony recorded a demo of "I Can Tell..." before he quit, and Cove did his own version of it for the Smartpunk compilation.. (you can tell the difference between teh two because Cove's version starts out with a drum intro and Anthony's does not... otehr then that, they both sound exactly the same vocally... crazy). After some practice shows and preperation practcies, Saosin had Cove play a long string of hometown shows just to get him ready and comfortable on stage, then they embarked on a nation wide tour with Strung Out, in which Cove really grew into himself and gained experience. Saosin have yet to officially announce Cove as the new singer in the band, and I don't think they ever have plans to... it's kind of just "known". Below are some weird facts about the guys.

Saosin- Translating the name EP
This disc had an older drummer named Pat play on it (he is Slayer's drum tech) because Alex was not in the band at the time. Pat was only a studio drumemr, and the band temporarilly used a guy by the name of "danny" to play live with them for a few monthes. Alex was then inducted into the band and the drum situation is what it is now. Bass wise, a man by the name of Zach played. Zach quit bc one of the otehr members fucked his girlfriend and now he plays bass in the Ashlee Simpson band... no joke, Chris now plays bass and he rules. Anthony Green did vocals on the album and was replaced by Cove. So three of the 5 original members are not in the band anymore and you should expect their new album to sound NOTHING like the EP as a result of this. Also, There are 6 new instrumental demos floating around so try and get a hold of them if you can.

The band has since signed to Capitol Records are their new record is expected out by February 2006. They are also headlining a tour with Anberlin in the very near future.

ohh I see...that's pretty thorough. I really did enjoy the sound saosin had and I think Anthony does a great job with Circa Survive...I haven't heard the demo with cove on it though I would really like to hear it. I know they're touring right now so I plan on seeing them soon, hopefully they shall be amazing. Thanks again.
