Go buy "Burn, Piano, Burn" or "Crimes" rigth now. Seriously. Amazing vocals, amazing guitar, and some of the best lyrics I've ever seen.

Amazing vocals
The one part I disagree with.

I would like this band if it wasn't for the vocals.

did he say that. No.

He didn't have to. Just look at what he listens to. Nothing with any over the top, spazzy screaming. His opinion is irrelevant on the vocals.

I listen to a lot of different bands with different types of vocals.
From Saves The Day to Dillinger Escape Plan to The Wallflowers to Poison The Well.

Get over yourself.

You missed the point. You don't listen to anything that resembles the vocals of TBB. DEP and PTW are metalcore (and 10 bucks says you like Miss Machine more than Calculating Infinity, if you've even heard that album yet).

Well, I don't like the vocals of The Blood Brothers, so why would I listen to anything like that?

Ya, I do like Miss Machine more than Calculating Infinity. It's nice to have a break from constant screaming.

And I would like to know why, because I've already proven you don't listen to music like that. I just want to know what's so wrong with the vocals on their first 3 albums (I can understand anyone not liking Crimes, as a fan of the band I found it hard to enjoy the first time).

CI blows Miss Machine away. That album's not even about the vocals, which isn't just constant screaming. The musicianship is so much better.

The reason I don't like the vocals is because they sound obnoxious to me.

I know that the musicianship is better, but I like Miss Machine better. It's a little more my speed and an awesome album in its own right.

I can call rap vocals obnoxious if I wanted to and be right. I still don't see the big deal to not like the band because you can't get over their vocals.

Miss Machine's a fine album, but Calculating Infinity revolutionized a genre.

how can you get over it? its there constantly....its not like we can shut off the sound of the voice and just relax to the music. I have the exact same problem with C&C.

I agree, March On Electric Children has to be my favourite Blood Brothers album.

Easy. Focus on something other than vocals for once when you're listening to music. You'll never enjoy much music if you don't try and get used to vocals. There have been plenty of bands and genres I wouldn't be into today if I didn't make the little effort it takes to acquire a taste for something.

I can easily see how someone wouldn't care for The Blood Brother's vocals. At first i didn't like them either. But after listening to them more i began to like them.

Like Still Life was saying, it isnt all about vocals. For example the band Dream Theater. They are an amazing prog metal band but their vocalist happens to be awful shitty. It doesnt change the fact that they have amazing musicianship. If you can look past the vocals or learn to like them, then its easy to appreciate The Blood Brothers. You just have to keep listening until you like it. I have experienced this with many bands that are my favorites; Modest Mouse, The Blood Brothers, The Mars Volta, Bright Eyes, and Fear Before The March Of Flames.

Sometimes bands just take a little getting used to.

Yeah, James LaBrie is not too good, but the rest of Dream Theater kicks ass

i can definately see why people don't like Blood Brothers vocals, come on - they're pretty annoying after an albums worth, but go and see them live. its definately worth it. they're an incredible band.

then go listen to Soiled Doves and Neon Blonde...

I think the guys from the Blood Brothers vocals are too often coined obnoxious. The fact is that what they do with their vocals, especially Jonny, is near impossibly difficult to do. I'll definately pick up their older stuff, thanks for the reccomendation. Also, out of curiosity, do people prefer Crimes or Piano Island?

I've heard really really good things about it, but I was just wondering out of those two albums, since their pretty vastly different from each other. But, I admit ignorance as to how their early stuff sounds.

I prefer Crimes myself, but I love Piano Island as well
I really like the songs "Wolf Party" and "Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck"

They are amazing live, I've seen them twice and am going again to see them very soon

I just saw them about a week ago and they were sweet.

They played with The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower who are also awsome. If you like The Blood Brothers chances are you will like The Plot.
