Mac's are pretty good machines, except I hate the one button mouse, and they are ridiculously overpriced.
I build my own custom pcs. I can build four of mine for the same price of 1 mac of equal power.

I grew up on a mac, but I can't go back from a PC. I just... don't like it. I don't use my computer enough to be hardcore about it and need some hugely powerful internet surfing shit. I just don't care that much.
I've heard PCs don't even compare for video editing tho. And Mac's have this awesome iTunes drinking game mix thing.

Macs are 10 times better than PCs, but its hard to get everyone else to agreee
and yes, PCs dont even compare....the quality of video editing for Final Cut Pro on a Mac is amazing compared to the home video quality of programs like Adobe and Studio.

It edits it for you. It just plays a random minute in the middle of the song somewhere, and it tells you that you have done X number of drinks/minutes, and you have Y left. And you can pick whatever 60 songs you want. I'm not sure where it came from, since I don't have a mac, but google "itunes power hour" or something. Maybe it's on download.com

I have to use a Mac at work...I fucking hate it...they're simply awful computers. They look pretty, sure, but you don't realize what you're missing when you actually have to do WORK on a mac...Safari is a terrible browser, iChat is a very limited program, etc. Making mouses with no right click is a retarded idea as well, you don't realize how much you miss scroll wheels, right click, back click, etc - it's insane. I can't get anything done at work...I just want to alt-tab out of something, I want a task bar, I want tabbed IMs and tabbed internet windows...arrrrrrrghhhh.
Macs are only good if you don't know what the fuck you're doing on a computer. Then they're easier. but if you are like me, and can use a PC even remotely well, then don't bother getting a Mac. Don't let their gorgeous looking exterior and pretty interface fool you.

Ok, so I searched and pulled my overly sarcastic argument against iTunes from another thread. I know some of you may just listen to your library on random, and if that's all you do, more power to you, use iTunes. But that's all it's good for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look, I'm iTunes.
Want to add something to your ipod? Oh, shit I can't handle you dragging and dropping an album in here - should I synchronize all 35 gigs of your music collection to your ipod AGAIN?
Want me to take over your media library and reorganize it for you? I won't fix any of your tags, instead you'll now have 5 different folders for one artist! Blink 182, blink-182, Blink-182, blink182, and Blink182! Awesome! Now you can't find any individual songs on your hard drive because I spread them all over the fucking place!
A...playlist?? What's a playlist??? I can't open a playlist and play tracks in the order of the album, I can only add them to the library. You have to manually find them on my media library and play them!
Play...multiple files? askdghsakjlhdasjkhdsad I can't handle that, I can only play things on shuffle, sorry!
I cut off the last 2 seconds of every single song - by default!
I'm a gigantic program that uses way too many system resources for having way less functionality than any other media player out there!
I'm going to run iTunes helper and iPod assistance in the background, even if you don't own an ipod!
I'm incapable of queuing something to play after this current song! You're going to have to create a brand new playlist for it - in iTunes, of course, since I can't handle normal playlists!
Want me to convert your .wma files to mp3? Awesome! Instead of converting them, I'll just make NEW mp3 files and store them discreetly in your iTunes folder, so that when you uninstall the program, all your files are still .wma!
In summary, I'm a complete piece of shit, and anyone that uses me should switch to winamp 5.0 immediately!

Not true, at ALL. you can change a few of those. you still can't queue up songs to play next. you still can't convert songs, just create new ones. It still can't handle different file formats. it still takes up a ton of resources. it still can't handle playlists. you still can't open multiple files at once. you are so gung-ho apple you can't even see how shitty it really is.
Honestly, I've never had any of those problems. It's probably just the PC version that sucks. But that's what I'd expect, I don't see why Apple would put a lot of time into making a quality program for PCs.
That's probably because you are a very simplistic media player person who doesn't want extra features, which is fine. I demand more.
I've had none of this happen to me.
that is ridiculous. that is 100% truth. try doing those things. every single friend i have with an ipod complains about how shitty the syncronization and transfer software is on iTunes.
kidinthecorner

You can turn the synch off, and manage manually. It's then all click and drag.
You can turn off the fade timer, or change it to a different length if you want.
All you have to do is change the name, and it puts it in the same folder. Blink-182? Delete the - and its in the same folder as Blink 182 now.
It has playlists? I don't understand your complaint there.
Who cares about queuing songs? That's what playlists are for.
Why do you need multiple files playing at once?
When it converts a file, it creates a whole new file. Then it's there. It never deleted anything I converted when I uninstall itunes.

Why do you need multiple files playing at once?
Ignorance. Typical - no offense. Just because YOU don't use an option, doesn't mean it isn't a serious flaw to a player. Creating playlists are a pain in the ass. If I am sitting down, and I am playing a song, and I think: "Hey, I want to listen to that cartel song after this" I can find it, and queue it to play next. Just with a click. It's ridiculous that iTunes can't do that. I don't want to create an individual playlist every time I want to hear ONE SONG after another. If you can't see that, then wow, dude. You need to just think about other uses besides what you use it for.
As far as multiple files "playing at once," i actually hit my head on my desk when I read that. I mean, cntrl-clicking on maybe...4 different songs on your hard drive, then hitting enter, so voila - they are all loaded up in a playlist, (that doesn't need to be saved to your HD) and they play in order! holy crap what an idea! every single media player in the WORLD can do this besides iTunes. (winamp, WMP, musicmatch, etc...)
A lot of my music comes with a .m3u file in it, that allows you to double click it to play the entire album in order on ANY OTHER MEDIA player. if you try to do that with iTunes, it spazzes out and just loads all the songs onto the library, pauses for about 5 seconds, then stops. No music. No songs playing in order. It can't handle it. Ridiculous.

It's not difficult to create a playlist at all. Go file new playlist, and drag whatever you want in there. Tough. You can even have one pick out keywords or genres automatically!
I don't even know why I'm defending itunes. Idon't care about it, but you were just overzealous in your attack on it. The ipod updating, the overlap, and other simple things were just nitpicking about default settings, which was my first point.

You're overly defending a terrible program. You shouldn't have to "create" a new playlist, yes, it's not that hard to do, but it's a completely unneeded hassle, as well as the 10 other things you told me how to fix. If those things needed to be fixed, why were they like that in the first place? Because apple makes software for brainless sheep who just want their programs to do everything for them. It just doesn't have the capability to do things that every other media player can. Which is why I use winamp. It can do everything iTunes can, it's faster, it uses less resources, and it has a ton MORE features than iTunes.

keep running back on your heels, man. you still have to drag it in. should be as easy as a click, anywhere in your music folder, not in your iTunes library. Just admit that it suits your needs, but there are better programs out there.
i'm still waiting for somebody to tell me why iTunes is BETTER than winamp, instead of scrambling to find some half-ass excuse for why it's almost as good.

Because I can put songs from my computer onto my ipod, whcih I carry everywhere. Can winamp do that? Cuz then I'll switch to it.
I don't listen to music nearly as much at my computer than I do everywhere else in my life, so I need it in my hand.

Ya thats the same reason I switched from Musicmatch to iTunes on my PC because it was just alot easier to put songs on my iPod that way, I know iTunes isn't the best but I have no complaints it suits me just fine

You guys, come on!!!! you don't have to use iTunes for music AND iPod!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh so frustrating to hear this. use another program to listen to music, and when it's time to transfer, use iTunes...or another, better third party software. Musicmatch is what I'm supposed to use to put songs on my Dell DJ, but it's not a good program, so I don't use it to play music in, just to transfer. I actually don't even use Musicmatch at all anymore, I use Dudebox to transfer to my DJ....but besides the point...

Why the fuck fill up more of my harddrive if I'm going to have iTunes anyway? It works fine, and its there no matter what.

sigh. Winamp takes about the same hard drive space as 1 single mp3. It's obvious that features and having a good media player aren't important to you anyways.
