New J.K. Rowling book. I'm looking forward to this. I liked the Quidditch and Fantastic Beast books.

Pre-ordered.
I might also pre-order the $100 one and hope it sells out so I can sell it for more.

Friends have pre-ordered theirs and I'll just end up borrowing it from them!

I asked my dad for the collector's one last night for my birthday. After I asked him, he called me a geek. I'm already a broke college student so I can't spend $100 on a book at this moment. :-(

I want to get it but isn't it like 12 bucks? Kind of a lot for a 100 page book. Or maybe I'm just a cheap bastard.

I only shop there because a friend works there. I get the employee discount.

What's the deal with B&N being bad?
PaintedMirrors
12/06/08, 09:25 AM
I've never really had a problem with B&N, but Borders has always seemed like the better store to me. I don't really know why. I miss Borders. I'd go back to shopping there if I knew that my friend wouldn't take it personally, but she would.

Borders discounting is generally better. B&N will generally make their b4g1 on specific books where Borders will do an entire genre. The store is better organized. The people working there are more friendly. They make it easier to find what you want. You can use their computers. I could go on for days.

My pre-order came in today. Looks good, but I'll have to read it when finals are over.

it's on my christmas list.
is she still making that book that was supposed to be sort of like an encylopedia of all things harry potter and little known facts and family trees and whatnot? I thought I remembered hearing about that. I think I also remember hearing that she was working on something totally non-harry related.
this one is about the three hallows so i think its something different.
JK Rowling's latest "The Tales Of Beedle The Bard" has surpassed all other records making its way to the fastest selling book of 2008. ...

oh, I know. I was just wondering if she was still going to the encyclopedia one. and whatever that other one was that I thought I read about. that's crazy about how fast it's sold though.
yeah totally, i can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

oh, I didn't know it was that short.
what is this?
I don't know if you read harry potter, but it's this book that hermione reads in the last harry potter book, and it's supposed to be like a collection of children's stories.

oh, I didn't know it was that short.
it's just 5 short stories, each short story has foot notes of dumbledore's thoughts on the story, you know like the deep meaning/moral behind each story.
its worth a read, but just don't expect it to be like the others.

ahh, got it. I wasn't really expecting it to be like the other books. I was hoping it'd be more than quidditch through the ages and fantastic beasts and where to find them though.

Can anyone tell me if this book is any good?
I live in Canada, but I've always bought the American Harry Potter books, so I ordered this from Barnes & Noble, so I expect it in the next week or so.
Can anyone tell me if this book is any good?
It is, Dumbledore's notes make it worthy
