Foo Fighters have been selected to take Nine Inch Nails' performance slot at the MTV Movie Awards. This announcement comes days after Nine Inch Nails chose to back out due to political and personal reasons.

What's the political reason?
They wanted to play with a huge picture of Bush as the back drop i think.
I rather see foo fighters than nin any way.

This is what Reznor wrote on his website. “We were set to perform ‘The Hand That Feeds’ with an unmolested straightforward image of George W. Bush as the backdrop. Apparently the image of our President is as offensive to MTV as it is to me. That guy is fun, lol.

This is totally unrelated to this thread but i just wanted to let everyone know that the Akaline Trio cd is gonna sell 50,000 units this week. Who would've ever guessed that? Thats more then the starting line.

Oh shit yeah, I'd MUCH rather see Foo Fighters perform, especially if Trent was going to perform that awful "The Hand That Feeds".

True, but Starting Line also had HUGE HUGE stocking problems, on top of the fact this was TSL's major label debut.
Back on topic, I'd personally rather see NIN because their performance and props sounded dope.

I believe you missed the point of that though. He just didn't quote the person he was answering the question for.

Finally quality wins ... in my eyes (personal opinion, don`t even try to feel offended!!!!) Alkaline Trio is the way better band with much more potential ... so what`s wrong with the world when finally good music sells ;-) ...

I saw the Foo Fighters lsat night in Sydney at Fox Studios. Fucking awesome. They are back in form after One By One was half excellent and half boring shit. We got the world premiere of a few new songs and they really are achieving epic status as Dave Grohl said he wanted this new album to be remembered by. It's just fucking mind blowing how good a musician Dave Grohl is. He is going to be remembered as one of the greats.

why do they say personal and political reasons? we know why and they said why. trent should just say, we are cool, mtv is fucking lame as hell and will not let us express ourselves. hense: we are not going to play on the show.

Not the same!... but an adequate replacement. If you figure Grohl did most of the drum work for With Teeth, then, well, it's basically good enough. Thank you MTV for being politically correct.

Didn't have a reason to watch, now I do. The song "Best of You" has probably the most emotion of any single on the radio today, the song is amazing and this album will be the best of the year. God I love the foo.
dave grohl never ceases to amaze me. great band and i anticpate this album will be somehting worth listening to???

Yea I love the Foo Fighers and the new single is incredible. When does the cd come out? I'm so stoked for it.
I never was much of a NIN fan but I do actually like this new song and the video is cool as well. To me the best videos are just the band actually playing with some cool cinematography. I'm not a big fan of silly story videos.

Or one of Condoleezza Rice.
Did anyone see that Colon Powell drove the pace car at the Indy 500? Props to Danica Patrick too, woman rule.

no one can argue about this: NINs line-up is so sweet.
I love the Icarus Line so much. Aaron North <3

Where does your quote end? I can't see Reznor saying "That guy is fun, lol." at all, but especially about the President.

i wouldn't... the foo fighters will be all over tv (late shows, etc.) to promote their new album in the coming month, nin hasn't released an album in 6 years, it would have been much more of a bigger deal to see them....imo.
but i do have a huge amount of love for dave and the foo fighters, so i am still happy.
