last summer i opted to take a precalc course so that i wouldn't have to take it my senior year (which is now). it was a pain in the ass and my new school didn't even accept the credits so i wound up having to take it again this year. is anyone or has anyone taken summer classes for the same reason as me? how'd it turn out?

psychology.
for high school or college? either way, it's not a bad subject, so it shouldn't be difficult. good luck!

I've never taken a summer class, but my roommate took one last summer and ended up failing so she had to take it again this past spring. She ended up getting an A in the class.

ya that's exactly it. A lot of these kids can't start taking classes for their major until they take like...writing....or chem lab...shit they couldn't fit in during the "normal" school schedule. It's a whole money making scam if you ask me...if ur a science major...there's no reason why you need any sorta english/writing class beyond HS...

I've heard mixed things about summer classes. As a pre-med student...taking summer classes for big pre-reqs like...organic chem...is frowned upon...but word on the street is that the teacher who teaches organic chem during the summer is much much better than the one who teaches during the fall/spring...wild stuff to consider.

ah good luck with that. What year are you? What're you majoring in?
I think AP tests are the best...even though the college board makes even more money...us poor students save money like crazy. I came into college with 20 credits...my buddy came in with 24 (thus technically making him a sophomore freshman year...hah). With all my credits right now...I'm technically a junior..haha.

thank you! i just finished my freshman year (yay for me) and right now i'm looking into communications/public relations for my major -- but exercise science and psychology look promising as well :) what are you majoring in?
yeah -- i definitely agree with you on the saving money dealie. college is so expensive .. it's really sickening actually how much money is going towards my college life/career, but in the end it'll be worth it.

ya I finished freshman year earlier as well...it was nice. I'm following a pre-med track right now so that involves a shit load of science courses...I'll probably major in biochem...what I'm really interested in is neuroscience but the way that major works at my school is total crap.
hah luckily for me college isn't overly pricy...I might end up having to spend around 2 grand a year total (books and everything) cause I have scholarships and the like to help me out.

Cool, biochem. I wanna do a biomedical engineering major with a biochemical/ chemical engineering minor, haven't decided which one yet.

well that's for HS I guess. If you take college classes in the summer you might be able to schedule them all at night and stuff. College>HS.

Hopefully you'll feel the same way two-three weeks into the program. If you do, then that's awesome! Good luck.
