Those aren't post-rock bands. Post-rock bands are:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Mum
Sigur Ros
Explosions In The Sky

i agree...everything is so blended i don't know why people insist on trying to label bands

I just get so confused, I try not to label the stuff I listen to. I'm more likely to name off bands I listen to then genres if someone were to ask me what I listened to.

yeah gaddachi is incredible...and caribou is one of the best bands i've heard in awhile...and yes i know, i don't see those bands specifically as post- rock...and i listen to tons of mum, explosions in the sky, mount st. zion, fly pan am...all that stuff, i was just reading pitchfork tho, and they we're saying that caribou was post rock...idk, just figured i'd throw it out there like that, cuz i didn't have a genre to classify it as really...and

SPOON.

if you like boards of canada, i recommend hearing in a beautiful place out in the country by them. i got the song last night, it's really beautiful

yeah, that's how you spell it, i got confused just like you lol

Someone define post-rock for me...haha

Vanity__Dearest

lol post-rock...well i'll try. if u've listened to sigur ros, or godspeed...it was basically coined for bands who rid alot of the "guitar" sound for something very airy, and use alot of synethic sounds and very soft ambient backgrounds and buildups...it has the catch of a rock song, without the heaviness of a rock song. well, that's how i look at it.

You missed that? Oh good Lord, I miss most of it too, but I read it later. All the leaked album type threads were deleted and then there was a big fight over it. It was really stupid. :P

I'm always down for checking out new stuff. I love the stuff I listen to now, but it gets kind of old after a while.
