For me, it's between Sleater-Kinney, The Pixies, Sonic Youth and the Velvet Underground.

In the words of the Impossibles, "Disintegration is the best album ever."

Radiohead all the way, OK Computer is possibly the most abstract yet amazing albums this joker has ever heard.

What?

Sleater-Kinney are a severely underrated band. You want to hear some females that can wail, you'll listen to this band.

It just seems as they were put on their because a female presence was needed. Not because it is one of the top 10.

I sincerely doubt that.

If you pick anything besides The Joshua Tree, then you have bad taste. Just listen to that album and absored the beauty.

OK Computer is one of my favorite albums. It's so good from beginning to end.
But The Joshua Tree opened the door for so many bands.

But I don't consider that album "alternative" hence why I picked Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation.

Radiohead.
There is so much going on in that album its ridiculous. Ive listened to it at least once a month since I was 14 and every time I listen I STILL find something new. Not to mention, the songwriting is brilliant and the lyrics seem to perfectly describe what alot of people are starting to go through 10 years later.

Joshua Tree is awesome too. Probably the last great album to be a huge pop success.

4. "Songs About Fucking": Big Black
5. "Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables": Dead Kennedys
6. "Singles Going Steady": Buzzcocks
7. "Pink Flag": Wire
8. "Entertainment": Gang of Four
9. "Out of Step": Minor Threat
10. "Group Sex": Circle Jerks

Those Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat records are in the "definitive" punk albums top ten. You can search for that poll if you wish. I made it a long time ago.
