Sounds like a good video.Three cheers.... is still so very, very good

off topic-Did anyone else read what Finch had to say about MCR in Kerrang(awful british magazine that I can't stop reading), pretty damn harsh.Apparently, according to Nate, the only reason MCR are popular is due to their image change.

Yeah, but Kerrang are known for "misquoting" people.

I can't seem to stop buying it either, it is my secret shame. Even though they gave my friend's band a "No K" review. *shakes fist*

Back on topic, I can't wait to see this when I get home from work, Three Cheers... hasn't left my CD player much (if at all) since I got it.

say what you want, but I tend to agree with the image comment. Not fully, but it sure did help them...

Although they did make "I'm okay, I promise" as poppy as possible....and then went dark out of nowhere with "Helena" - Not cool

dam, 500,000 dollar budget for a video for their 3rd single. For a band that sold just over that amount. Thats a little much i think. But major labels are retarded so yea...

What image change?! Their debut CD had songs about vampires and killing loved ones and a song based on the movie Dawn of the Dead! What the hell is everyone talking about?! If you had seen them live back before they were huge, they had the same damn image! Jeez.

Anyways, I'm excited about this video.

TJ, my mom would take this video DOWN!

here's why i think they can afford it...

i saw them with green day recently and shirts costed $25 each. just imagine about $5 going to the shirt manufacturer and about $5 more going to the arena or whatever. that's still $15 profit per shirt, per person. i saw tons of kids just lining up for these things. anyways, do the math. if 4 people bought their shirts, that's $100 right there, just subtract the other little things. multiply that times every person that bought a shirt and these sold out shows and multiply it time the number of shows. lots of money, huh?

MCR is what to emo/screamo/hard-whatever music, as Reel Big Fish was to Ska.

Also is it me or does Finch start shit all the time. Them and Disturbed got into it a while back over some shit that Finch was saying.

PS I love Reel Big Fish.

I don't know if this is news to anyone but I was talking to Grizz on AIM a few months back and telling him all about my disgust for MCR, SOTY, etc. and he told me his disgust for those bands as well, so its definately true.

"I Brought You My Bullets...." is a fucking great album. The new one is good too.

My Chemical Romance has not changed as much as everyone thinks they have. More makeup, sure, but the theatrics have always been there. This is essentially the same band that was two or three years ago.

I don't really think they deserve to be lumped in with crappy bands like Story of the Year. They're a lot more creative, and I don't think I'd necessarily label them as screamo. Just good, balls out rock.

Whatever though. The video sounds cool.

i couldn't agree more.
to the haters:
how can bullet proof vests make a band popular?
it's originality and style man.
some bands don't like having a style.
some bands do. gerard use to wear that leather jacket everywhere. it's all the same thing

stop judging based on what they wear. it's about the music.

I agree with everything you said, especially about SOTY, they always get put into categories like that and they are a lot more original than they get credit for. And about that quote from Finch, it just seems like they are trying to start something else, which isn't anything new.

is it ok for people to just not like bands? I dont like this band, nothing against them, they just arent for me. They have a definate image and sell it to the kids, and they eat it up, more power to them, I guess its all about the dollars in the end.

Of course you can just dislike a band because it's not your cup of tea, but it's when people go into the shallow end and start hating a band because of their popularity and because they "sold out".

The thing with MCR is that they have had that same image since they've been a band. How can you sell out by staying the same? If kids eat it up, it's not their fault because they have been doing it since the beginning. And regardless of how many records they sell, they have been the same people and have retained the same work ethic and music and everything. I mean, not to diss on you or your favorite band, but Finch is on Drive-Thru, one of the least credible labels in the business. They've had videos on MTV. They've made appearences. It's the same thing you're speaking down against.

I was hoping their next video would be of "Cemetery Drive." That's my favorite song off Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and I figured it'd be a sweet video with zombies and hot chicks fighting over a Toaster Strudel. Something along those lines.

Hahaha. That's my favorite song off the album, too.

Mmm. Hot chicks and toaster strudels.

It's the same thing you're speaking down against.its not the same at all, I never said this band sold-out, but they have been subjected to mass over-exposure, they are seriously on tv everytime I turn around, they may be a hard-working band, I respect them, I think they made a good record but its not my thing. I just detest when bands have images, I don't think MCR sold-out by any means never once did I say that but I'm mainly sick of them, I dont know if I can blame them really for that but its getting old, and if you have a hard time respecting my opinion I really don't fucking care.

why does everyone diss MCR? they have worked just as hard as any other band out there. they have two solid albums. they are getting popular because the music is good. maybe YOU think they suck, but there are a lot of other people out there who obviously dont think they suck, so why bother? if theyre getting popular, its not because they wear makeup. mcr isnt the only band that wears makeup, its not a new thing. and besides, only gerard wears makeup during shows. frank only does sometimes. not the rest. so many people are so closed minded its sad. and as for this video, so what if theyre spending half a million dollars? im positive there have been other videos made with just as much that sucked ass. give mcr some credit. they work hard, they tour NON STOP (havent had a break in over a fucking year), and theyre great guys. nuff said.
