Hidden In Plain View- Garden Statement.

Verse One.

Helicopter moves cam in over backed up traffic towards bad accident and focuses in on driver of vehicle leaning over hood of wrecked car. Camera turns to right and focuses in on single "rubbernecker." As chorus comes in, cam moves up to overpass. Film of band playing in the middle of the highway is overlayed with film of traffic. Band plays throughout chorus. As chorus comes to a close, car drives through band making them "disentigrate."

Verse Two.

Cuts to suburban home. Male in jeans, black HIPV hoodie, and skate shoes carrying board walks up steps and into house. Walks into kitchen, sits at table and begins to eat. Mom and Dad walk into scene arguing. Male throws fork down disgusted, runs up stairs and into room, slams door, and throws himself on bed. Chorus footage is band playing in male's room.

Verse Three.

Cam moves into school and down hall into classroom. Shows girl in desk. She gets up and runs to bathroom and into stall and begins to vomit in toilet while sitting on the floor. She looks up and sees another girl watching her. She stands up and runs past her out of bathroom, down hall, and out school double doors. Cam focuses on her staring at sun. Cam moves into school and moves down hall with band playing at the end of the hall as students are let out of classes. Background fades to black.

Finale.

Screen splits into three parts, one for each afforementioned character. Video begins to "reverse" through day, giving it a rewind effect. Video comes to an end with all three characters laying in bed waking up.

Yes, I'm just saying that I like the idea for the first verse like the camera "rubbernecking" towards the accident and the car driving through the band seems like it'd be a cool effect too but after that part the video doesn't seem to tie in with the song.

I thought it was sort of the same kid throughout the song, like in the first verse where he talks about the kid writing poems being secrets turned to lyrics and then he dies and in the chorus they sing "and we give and we give and it's all for nothing..." and then the second verse I always just imagined a bunch of people hounding him for stuff ( the "bloodsucking leeches") and he just sort of freaks out and when he makes it home he just hides under the covers so where he feels safe like he's in his "tightly wrapped cocoon." and the end sort of seems to be like him getting what he wanted but it's not quite what he expected and that could sort of tie in with him being dead at the beginning of the song.


Damn it now you've made me sort of over analyze the song, I hate over analyzing things. Okay I'm just going to stop now.

i emailed this idea to HIPV and this is the response i got. seriously, no editing.

thanks soo much for the idea...i think its awesome.....we dont have any plans to shoot a video for it...but hopefully we'll get lucky and we'll get someone to make a video for the song....thanks for the takin the time out to share your ideas...im glad the song triggered some thoughts and ideas...thats cool
