I haven't had a part time job in 4 years. I am looking for something that pays a good amount. I am going back to school full time....have been part time student for past 2 years.

Try a coffee shop. I make pretty good money at one and they work around my school schedule.

I like it at McDonalds.. but I don't get paid well. They do work around my schedule quite well though. Definitely find a job somewhere that has a good amount of employees... then you never have to work when you don't want to.

Be a host at a restaurant. It's good money, and the job is easy as hell. I did it the past 2 summers, and i'm going back part time in a few weeks. I get $8.50 an hour, plus about $15-25 in tips (.25% of total resturant sales while you work)...so it averages out to like $12-14 an hour or so.

I work in a grocery store and it sucks like all hell. The money is good 2 dollars extra on the weekend and 50 cents after 5pm. Which isn't bad. But you could probably make good money off tips being a bus boy or host/hostess.

it sounds weird, but i was a cart guy at home depot a few years ago and made a lot of money. They started me at $9 an hour, and i made a lot in tips. People would buy a ton of rocks or bricks and want you to load it onto their cars for them... or like tie a big box of furniture to the top of their car. On a weekend day, i could leave with like $15-20 in tips.
Supermarkets aren't THAT bad, but you don't get paid that much. I wouldn't really suggest a cd store. My friend was working at one, but had to quit cause they paid soooo little. Basically is a cool environment, so they dont have to pay as much.

a really good job during the summer and during school is working as a bank teller. there are positions available everywhere. if you work at a big bank like wells fargo, they'll pay for your school and give you benefits. if you work at a smaller bank, there is enough dead space for you to do your homework. the hours have always been great. i go to school in the morning and then work 1-7, 9.50 an hour, get my 40 hours and my evenings. love it.
if you're up for the adjustment in your lifestyle, you could try a paper route in the mornings. i did that for a little bit. you have to get up at two, and you're done before six. the money's crazy sometimes. i made 50 dollars a day. it was fun. not as lucrative as turning tricks though. word.

waiter/waitress.. however, sometimes that requires you to be at least 21.. because of serving alcohol (not all the time tho)..
high end clothing stores also... my bro worked for one, he got paid $16 an hour.. and time and a half on sundays.. plus commission
i lifeguard, i make $7 an hour during regular hours, 10.50 an hour after closing (parties, swim meets) and $14 an hour for lessons.
the pools open at 11 and close at 9, so i never have to work early or late. its awesome.

If you find a privately owned restaurant that gets good business, you can make some good money. I have friends that work for 2.50 an hour, but they walk out almost every night with about 50$ in tips.

I make website in my free-time, sort of like a part time job. In two or so weeks I can produce a $500 website. It's fun and I can site in front of my computer and listen to music :D

I work part time at a golf course, its not too bad. I make minimum wage, but I also get a dollar tip for every pair of golf clubs I clean and sometimes I get tipped for loading carts. Its not a bad work environment, either.

Home Depot starts at like $9 an hour so that's a decent job and there are really good benefits.

Places like Best Buy and Circuit City are good. You paid pretty good after a while and you get discounts for all the shit there. I'm going to be working at Best Buy this summer.
