there's gotta be more than this
more than just surviving,
more than just dragging one foot in front of the other, gasping for each breath.

you deserve more than this mere existance...
you deserve to laugh, to skip, to fly,
to break free from all of these shackles holding you back,
grinding at your bones and your heart day in and day out,
pounding your will with punch after punch until it collapses into a crumpled heap on the floor.

you deserve to live,
to live, in the purest sense of the word,
to feel, to love, to smile, to be.
to be you.
without the hurt, without the pain, without the tears,
without the misfortunes casting their dark shadows on things that ought to be bright...

the world has cut you short, and has beaten you down.
it has stolen your innocence, and has maimed your already wavering will.
but keep up your strength, and let your hung head rise:
you are so strong.
you are so wonderful.
and you are so loved.

i am so proud of you.

I really liked this, you can tell you put alot of feeling behind it.

'pounding your will with punch after punch until it collapses into a crumpled heap on the floor.' Is a really awesome line and I think the ending is superb, nice work:)

thank you all! i actually wrote it about a really close friend who's been going through a lot recently, but we've both hit a bit of a rough spot in the past few months so a lot of it comes from personal experience as well. thanks again guys!

i really enjoyed the message but i think some of the images are a little stale. it just seems like i've heard them before. i still enjoy it though.
