It has been some time since I have posted my sunday recs but here is what I have been listening to the last few weeks.

The Format (http://www.theformat.com) - When I went down to Arizona the other week I met alot of kid that kept talking about this band called The Format. I went to purevolume, loved it, bought the album and haven't stopped listening to it.

Minus The Bear (http://www.minusthebear.com) - This is also another band that I always heard people talk about but never took the time to listen to. Even though every song is about drinking and girls they seem to be able to pull it off.

Scary Kids Scaring Kids (http://www.scarykids.com) - I got the new album in the mail last week and I can't get over how good it is. I think that the production is amazing and it definently went in a big step for these guys. I really hope that their first major label release pays off for them.

Head Automatica (http://www.headautomatica.com) - I love this band, I will never hate anything that Daryl does. They are playing here in omaha in a couple of weeks and I am so excited. I also really hope this Glassjaw/The Used tour actually happens.

The Format are suddenly becoming one my favorite bands. I can't stop listening to the Snails EP and Interventions & Lullabies. I can't wait for the new cd to come out, should be incredible.

The Format is cool, but I am not really into their slower stuff. I love The First Single, Tie the Rope, Wait, Wait, all those songs, but never got into the rest. The new SKSK is better than their old stuff, but I still don't like it, and they still have the worst band name ever. Umm..new Minus the Bear is fucking amazing. MTB is funny because really, every song pretty much sounds the same, but not at the same time. That finger tapping is so distinctive.

The Snails EP, as well as Interventions and Lullabies, is spectacular! Can't wait until they produce another masterpiece! A wonderful band that I am proud to say came from Arizona!

I wish I could find the Snails EP, but I don't think they are selling it online or anywhere near me. Maybe I'll have to go to Arizona just so I can get it! The Format rules.
