"The band with a number for a name" (as they introduced themselves last Saturday), 3 opened the show. They ripped through about 50 minutes of amazingly tight progressive rock tunes. I don't really know them too well, so I can't name even one song, but they sounded good.
The Dear Hunter played the longest set I've seen (just about 2 hours). They sounded awesome. The show sold out and the room was way over capacity (still only about 230 people or so). Seeing Nate (from TREOS) on bass was awesome. Andrew Cook (TREOS drummer) was also in attendance. A projector screen acted as their backdrop, with a flash image that casey created himself, reminiscent to the one at the top of their myspace page. Three cameras were also set up throughout the room and their footage was projected behind the band. I was working one of the cameras. It made for a truly awesome show experience.
I'm not 100% sure on the setlist, but here are the songs they played in no real particular order:
The Procession
The Lake And The River
The Oracles On The Delphi Express
The Church And The Dime (w/ Beatles "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" outro)
The Bitter Suite (I and II)
Where The Road Parts
*New Song*
City Escape
The Inquiry Of Ms. Terri
Pimp And The Priest
His Hands Matched His Tongue
Black Sandy Beaches
Red Hands (set closer)
~~~~~~~~
Smiling Swine (encore)
