I think its a great mix and if you listened to the interview they we all about having fun making music together.

Isles & Glaciers sound really good, and it's such a good idea putting all those bands together, especially Chiodos. Apparently a tour or more shows isn't on the agenda though because of their own bands which is a shame. I'm excited for the album though atleast :)

I understand the frustration of the band and why they kicked him out but to me, it was the worst thing they could of done.

the band will be together for a while i'm sure, but even though craig isn't THAT good, he's got a huuuge rep. probably bigger than chiodos themselves, which is sad cause they are much sicker musically than he is vocally..but oh well.

Doubtful, considering a very large number of their fans only liked the band because of Craig. Sure they won't lose ALL their fans but they will lose enough for them to be unsuccessful with their future endeavors. Hell look at From First To Last. They lost Sonny Moore, who wasn't that good either, and since then, they haven't gone anywhere noteworthy because a huge majority of their fans left because of Sonny leaving, hell I'm surprised they haven't broken up already. Perhaps Chiodos will still be around playing the tiny club circuit, that doesn't mean anyone is going to give a shit if they do. Without a significant fanbase to sustain them, why would they continue on for a long period of time?

Completely wrong. Check any fanpage not including the bands myspace (where they approve all comments...and oh isnt it telling that theyve had only about 20 positive comments on their wall since October) or ask any Chiodos fan, Craig was probably the reason they loved them so much, and while you might give Chiodos a listen now, I am certainly not waiting with bated breath for their next release. On the other hand I can not wait to hear Craig's new project. Craig made Chiodos, and I guarantee you they are going to fade away in the coming years while his new project blows up

Now they will blend in better, but will still have success.. regardless... the name will carry them alone.

Craig is probably the reason they are so big, but if Chiodos fans are as true as the claim to be (like myself) they will still support them after the fact. I'm not happy with the decision but I also believe it was for the best and I will continue to support Chiodos until the end. Kind of like FFTL after Sonny left, yes the band did get worse but I still support them.

Well, let's face it. Nobody listens to Chiodos to hear Matt Goddard's base lines, Jason Hale's guitar work, or Brad Bell's work on the keys. They listen to them because Craig wrote great songs and had an excellent voice that made the sound of that band what it was. Don't fool yourself. Now, whoever replaces him will try to replicate what he did, it'll be a watered-down version of what fans are used to, people will lose interest, start to care more about Craig's new projects, and Chiodos will either disband or beg him to come back.

I will give you the fact that they may not nearly be the same as they once were fan wise... right... but plenty of people listen to them for the instrumentals along with the vocals... I for one love seeing what bands do with the instrumentals, the vocals are definitely only one part of the a band...I hate all the hate on musicians.. who are not vocalists.

And note, I am a vocalist AND I play the instruments, so its not just a bitter rant from me.

I hadn't the slightest clue bands were more than just a vocalist, but thanks for the update.

When Johnny Craig left Dance Gavin Dance (and I use the word left loosely), most fans had severe doubts about the future, because really, as talented as the rest of the members are, you need the entire package to properly enjoy a band usually. Once they realized Kurt Travis was a great singer, they reinlisted their faith in DGD. I'm almost positive that's the situation here. Most people will jump ship, but IF Chiodos finds a talented new singer, the fans will come back.

There is no such thing as a fair weather fan in music. A sports team has a bad year, they always have next year to rebound. If a band puts out a shitty album, no one will bother listening to that record, or the next ones. It could end their career. There are plenty of other bands out there who are probably better anyway. And yes a band consists of more than a vocalist, but Craig (the vocalist) was the most impressive and outstanding part of this band. He is one of the best frontmen in the scene, and that band will suffer greatly without him there.
