It's common for bands to get picked on on this site. Bright Eyes sucks because he's boring. Senses Fail is unoriginal and cliché. Say Anything is overrated. Mae is for sissies. If you like LostProphets, you should be shot. Blah blah blah etc.

There are some bands however, that seem free from scorn.

Rise Against. I don't think that there's anyone who doesn't like this band. Even if you don't like the band, no one on this site ever says anything bad about this band (or at least not that I've ever seen).

I would say Thursday is safe because so many people respect them that they never get a "they suck," it's all just "I'm not really into them." Anyone else ever notice that? Both of these bands never get picked on.

What other bands are safe from hate?

I don't listen to most of the bands people like on this site. I've loved RA for a long time and the reason they don't get bashed is because they just make great music and don't waste time on their image or anything. But people did point out how their latest album was not as great as they had expected.

Thrice will also never get bashed on here...cause they're amazing.

No way, so many people complain about how overrated Bemis is. Every thread about Say Anything has someone saying "I don't see what the big deal is with this band they suck" and at least four other people agreeing.

I don't think that Baseball was as orgasmic as everyone says it is, but ...Is a Real Boy was fantastic.

Any band could get shit on any given day. I don't think any band is ever truly safe, but it would be interesting to see a band that everyone on this site likes. It would be madness.

Nah, a lot of people think that they're egotistical pricks. See: Drive-Thru/Midtown scandal from a couple years back. If not that, it's that FWYK sucked and they need to go back to the old pop-punk cookie-cutter sound they used to have.

They really aren't pricks though, from what I've seen. I have no idea what they're like inside the industry though. When I've talked to them, they've been the coolest guys. My favorite band, thus the icon.

People can be racist against Teppei. But why would they? Teppei rocks. Damn racists! Thrice is another band on that list I would say because I'm too lazy to look back and see if anyone bashed them.

The only thing that I can remember against Thrice was disappointment with Artist in the Ambulance, which I loved. I think that they totally redeemed themselves with the "Quiet Things" cover at Bamboozle though. That was awesome.

it really grows on you. I had this notion that they were another thursday or TBS or something...then I gave it some time and now deadbolt is one of my favorite songs of all time. They're not emo at all. It's also pretty hard to categorize em into any genre since very few mainstream bands are like them.

Dustin actually does have his own solo acoustic side project...at least that's what I heard a while ago...forgot what he called it. Their lyrics range from so many things...the melting point of wax is about the flight of icarus...blood clots and blackholes is about how ambiguous modern medicine is...deadbolt is about a parable involving two sisters, one good, one evil...cold cash and colder hearts is about greed and corruption but what makes it really unique is that it's written from the POV of the rich CEOs and such ("and they die by the thousands as we look away")...and musically...all of them are great at what they do...they're not the best but they are better than most in the genre...the bass riff in stare at the sun...the drum line to most any song...the guitar in deadbolt, see you in the shallows...it's all amazing. Great great band.

ATDI doesn't, true. They're legends by now in the genre.

Copeland does because they're boring. Same thing as Mae, sissy music to some. I like both. Also, their most recent CD was met with a lot of disappointment. People bashed them in Tate's review, but probably to spite Tate, since so many people enjoy doing that. Jerks.
